sounds good to me but I love me some BBQ! Maybe make a fall-ish fruit dip with apples and strawberries? I made one off Pinterest for the triplets 1st bday party. It had brown sugar and cream cheese and was really good.
I think if you are presenting the adults with a gift as a "favor" then you need to have something for the kids. If you are just giving a few adults individual gifts 1 at a time, then I wouldn't worry as much about the kid favors. I don't understand what the fact that they are cousins has to do with not having favors, though. I don't think favors are intended for only non-family? I feel like I'm missing something.
Basically, I don't think party favors are necessary but if you are doing them for some, you should do them for all, regardless of age or relation. I guess if you were doing kid favors you could leave the adult favors out, but never leave out the kids! They are the ones who will notice and get upset.

Okay, wan already guilted me into it last night, but you guys are driving it home. What type of thing should I get for a 17 month old girl and 5,7 and 12 year old boys? Target is my only option.

my thought was that since they're staying for the weekend, they'll already have packed stuff to keep them occupied. amiright, OP?
regardless, i still vote for goody bags. FAVORS FOR ALL!
I don't know any meat eaters who don't like it. It seems like the guests are OP's close family members and friends, so I presume she would know if any of them were vegetarian and would have included them in the menu.
I know several meat-eaters who don't care much for BBQ (including myself). But if that's something that everyone in their families will love as she stated above, then they should absolutely have it.

Thanks wan. You said it!! Plus, I can't think of any favors that would seem to go with the theme of the party (owls), so it all seems pointless. But I have to go to target today, so I will pick up something fun. I have been thoroughly guilted into it.
Any opinions on activities? The boys are all brothers and we have a wii. The little girl just likes to run. She is too small for much of anything organized.
