I love them! Target has them for like $1 each. I have like a dozen fun prints. I do have the standard black socks and white socks, but the ones that I wear most often are the prints.
Slightly entertaining story. I was completely silent in high school and never ever talked to other students in my class unless absolutely necessary. In sophomore english class we were each assigned someone in the class to write a 1 page detailed description of them, starting with an anecdote.
The anecdote about me was about how the girl writing it asked around to see if anyone knew anything about me, and all anyone could come up with was "she wears really colorful socks."
I've thrown most of them away now because they wore out or lost their mates, but I still have a handful of brightly colored, holiday themed, and animal adorned socks.
I have an obsession with socks. When I wear pants long enough to cover them (like jeans) I wear fun ones. I wear grey/black trouser socks w/ my work pants though.
I do, but they are only worn when I work out. They are low cut, so you can't really even see the prints.
There was a girl around my age in the parking lot the other day. She had on professional clothes and actually looked halfway nice....then I looked at her feet. She was wearing pants that were about 3-4 inches too short. She had on one neon striped sock and then one sock that had little multicolored stars all over. They didn't even match.

Sometimes. When I was a kid (like middle school aged), I had brightly colored solid socks that I loved. When they started to wear out, I started looking for replacements. Had a hard time finding replacements, but my mom found me socks with patterns instead. Didn't love the patterns, but I needed something on my feet, so I wore them. People noticed, and started giving me patterned socks. Though high school and college, even well into my 20s. Being the MM person I am, I preferentially will wear free socks over purchasing socks, which really perpetuated the problem. I've honestly never cared for the patterned socks, but have worn them a lot. Anyway, I've finally started to find and buy bright solid socks, so the patterned sock gifts have finally started to slow down.
I wear patterned socks when I wear them. I'm not a huge socks fan and prefer wearing heels or dress shoes without them, but when I have to wear socks because it's cold out or I'm wearing boots, I go with fun colors and patterns.
I have a bunch of the cheap low cut printed socks from Target. I like to wear them to work to brighten up my "uniform". I wear flats every day that you can usually see a bit of sock with.
I only wear socks with running shoes (always white) or boots (also usually white -- no-one is going to see them anyway). I do have some pairs that are dark or patterned (argyle) but they do not make me any happier than white socks.
ETA: What shoes are you guys wearing with socks that they're visible to others?

No. Not that I don't like them; I'd probably buy them if I thought they would FIT and perform well. But that only applies to conservative, classic patterns, NOT holiday themed. My MIL has bought me Halloween socks and Christmas socks and they go stright into the trash.
