Almost 2mo ago on our 4mo anniversary. I got a LivingSocial deal for an Italian restaurant. $32 for 4-course meal for 2. Pretty sweet. There was action later.
I have another voucher from LS for a wine bar. $49 for dinner for 2 with a tasting of 6 wines per person & a take-home bottle. I’m looking forward to that one.
First of the month. We had a Groupon (LivingSocial?) for Sibling Rivalry. I think we spent $90 or so. And I got lucky that morning but not that night.
The more I think about it, that wasn't all that romantic of a night. We are wonderful at just having a good time, being really funny, cuddling, etc. But genuine romance? Not our strong suit.
Our second anniversary is coming up in November, and I'm curious to see how romantic that is.
Last night was our anniversary. We went to Bonefish Grill and Taken 2. Very romantic. Haha. We didn't want to be out super late so getting to a restaurant anywhere else (where the good ones are) and a movie just wasn't happening. BG just opened like two months ago though so I was excited to be able to try it.
I mean, we go out to dinner on our own fairly often, but the places we go on our own we'd also go to with friends. They may be fancy or trendy, but they're never romantic. We're not big fine dining/piano music at dinner people.
The last sort of romantic restaurant I can think of that we went to on our own is Il Mulino in Las Vegas [ETA: I'd estimate it was around $200?], last year. But we mostly just went there because we like Il Mulino but it is really hard to get a reservation in NY.
Does this count? We went backpacking this weekend, and climbed 4 high peaks in the Adirondacks. The biggest cost was probably the gas to get there.
I don't know if it's "romantic" -- probably not -- but I think it's really good for us. It gets us away from the Blackberries/iPhones, and makes us really work together as a team, in a way that daily life doesn't.
Is the drive in romantic? We brought our old comforter and pillows with us and cuddled in the bed of the pickup while we watched 2 movies. The cost was $9 per person for 2 movies ($18) plus the cost of some food. Another $10ish dollars.

We got a priceline name your price for a hotel 4 star hotel in DC. Went to fabulous restaurants and had an amazing weekend. Yup, he gave it up several times ;o)
Few weeks ago, DH cooked me a nice veal chop dinner on date night, then we hit up the beach, and a netflix movie. Chops were around 50 bucks fresh from the butcher. We are pretty down to earth people, we hate to dress up and love to cook though. And of course, it was date night.
Well Sat night my sweetheart took me to IKEA where we ate free & bought a wardrobe I've wanted for months. It was late & IKEA was pretty empty. We were alone so it was romantic to us . No action because we were tired & my Mom was staying with us. We snuck in some mid morning the next day when my Mom was at church & my girls were watching cartoons...lol. The wardrobe was $1k approximately.

Our anniversary was this past Sunday, but we celebrated on Thursday. We went to a local bar/lounge with super swanky cocktails for a pre-dinner drink (about $25 with tip) and then used a groupon for an awesome dinner at a local steakhouse (Providence Prime). I think we spent about $100 after tip and after the groupon on dinner (groupon value was $50, I spent $25 on it).
I got kind of drunk so we came home and then I fell asleep! So no, I didn't get lucky.
We went out for our anniversary last month, we stayed in a hotel (nothing fancy) near Galena IL (2 hours away) and went to a nice place for dinner. I can't remember the name at the moment but I think it was French? It was fairly romantic, though he ended up with a headache near the end of the meal. We went back to the hotel after and we did get it on, lol.
We aren't big "romantic" people but it was fun and nice to get away. I can't believe that was already a month ago, lol.
My gf is going and invited me. Is Ink worth the $? I feel like I'll get hungry still afterwards.
the food is really good. but like most fancy/trendy/etc. restaurants - yes, they're small portions. however, you get what you pay for. the food is top quality and cooked to perfection. i'd say go just to try it out!

I'll see if DH would go. I have a few days to think it over. I looked it up in Miso's website, and the food does look good. Your pic with MV makes it worth it, though! ;D
We had a coupon for a three course meal for two plus two glasses of wine for only $69 a couple of weeks ago so that was really nice. Then we went home and drank more wine and eventually ate the dessert we took home in our doggie bags.

maybe the last romantic date would have been our anniversary in August. We got a hotel room down town (yes - got it on ) - walked around downtown and had drinks, dinner at a Street Food Festival, cocktails at the Hotel bar that is ~ 26 floors up with glass walls and views of downtown.
