Thoughts and prayers to and with my mom and our family.

My grandmother has late stage Alzheimer's. She can only remember through her 20's. She hasn't been eating a whole lot
(there comes a stage in Alzheimer's where you get hungry, but forget what it means, or you forget how to swallow, etc.)

The rehab facility where she has lived for the last three years has taken her to the hospital and a cat scan determined that she had nodules on her liver and kidneys. The Dr. seems to think it is cancer.

My mom is preparing to say goodbye, and I think I need to, too.
Could you please send some nice, warm thoughts our way today?

That's a tough time, we just did that with my grandma. Sending warm thoughts that your mom will think of all the good times she's had with your grandma and can let go as best she can. My mom can definitely relate to your mom!

I'm definitely thinking of you and your family. My grandfather had Alzheimer's and I know it is terrible enough without the addition of cancer.

Thoughts and Prayers to your family. I am so sorry for everything you are going through. We're doing the DC Alzheimer's walk in a couple of weeks in honor of my mom. I'll be thinking of your grandma and everyone who is or has suffered at the hands this terrible disease. Lots of hugs and vibes to you!

The walk was in Tampa this passed weekend. A friend of mine recently lost her grandmother to Alzheimer's and does the walk every year also.

Thanks, Sara. My mom was diagnosed three years ago and she's doing relatively ok so far, but knowing what lies ahead is scary.
