I kind of liked all of them. I was actually with the judges in letting all four compete.
This season has been a nice change. Usually I'm all, "where's the talent? these people can barely sew?" but this season everyone left seems good. Sonjia (sp?) too. Sorry she didn't make it too.
I also hated Fabio's. I just don't.get.it. It's too pastel-y for my taste and looks very crafty IMO. Ugh, I couldn't get over that Nina liked it. I pegged her to hate it.
Melissa's I liked but I was sort of turned off by her emotional drama this episode. Come on! You're getting a chance to show. Pull it together!
Dmitry's aesthetic is just very Eastern European to me. That's why it reads as being a bit 80's and geriatric to the judges.
I liked Chripstopher's stuff but I didn't get how he was in the I'll-figure-it-out-last-minute mood. Um, no. Plan that shit to the nines, kiddo!
I think the decision to let them all show was a copout. We all know almost all get to do the runway, no need to play like it's only 4 that get the chance.

I saw good things from all. Fabio isn't my favorite designer, his aesthetic is kinda weird to me. But I'm very curious to see how it all comes together for the finale. I think it'll come down to Chris and Dimitry.
Fabio's collection was straight fug in my opinion. All this weird yucky looking pastels drapped in a sloppy manner. Ugh, totally NMS.
I really liked Christopher's print, and agree that it is haunting like he was going for, but his tiny leather shorts are kind of tacky.
Dmitry's collection is interesting, if old looking, but I think he's kind of being a "one way monkey" with his designs. I do think he'll be in the top though, because his clothes are so well made and just look nice, he just needs to get his styling down better.
Melissa's was also a little too much like what she was doing before, and I wish she'd used more color. She actually did really well with the challenges where she had to use prints, and I think her collection would have been more interesting if she'd been less mono-chromatic.
I wonder why they didn't have them do another look like they usually do? And is it just me, or did they have less time to produce fewer looks? I swear they usually had to do 12 and had like 8 weeks or something.

I remember that too. Plus, remember they sometimes brought back a previous PR contestant to help with the 13th look.
I didn't think Melissa deserved to be in the final, she always makes the same jacket and the same neckline. My favorites are Christopher and Dimitri and Fabio is totally not my style.
I really liked that in this episode there was absolutely no drama between the participants. I loved how they looked at each others collections and didn't attempt to create drama.

I loved this too. They all seem to genuinely like one another and get along. LOVE the lack of drama.
It's kind of funny- usually they seem to all be CRAZY finishing their pieces. Not so much this time, and ESPECIALLY Dimitry. Every time the camera was on him, he was just sitting at his table looking around.
I was sad to not see Sonjia in the finals. Especially after what Fabio put together. I like Fabio, but hate his collection. I think Sonjia might have actually been the one to really use some color if she had been in the final.
Whether you like or hate these collections I feel like they offer so much more!
Looking at these links I'd have to agree. I didn't watch the first season so I can't remember Jay's collection, but OMG I want that sweater!
It also kind of bugged me that it seems like with the shorter time to do the collections they also had less time to fix them per Tim Gunn's suggestions. I'm pretty sure Tim said he visited at least one of them a week before they were supposed to be back in NY, but he also said that he was surprised by how much they had done. Um, they have to show in a week! They'd better be 90% finished or they seem like they'd be screwed.
