Be a stripper? How much do you think they make? Are any of them married?
I'm just curious & trying to liven the board up.
-I think back in the day when I was a party animal I might have been able to. I didn't have much self respect. I used to model for a pretty shady guy for money. Now, I don't think I ever could.
Never. Neither H nor I has ever been to a strip club and will never go. It just not an industry we could ever support, by patronage or actually being one.

This. Except I think H went to one when he was 18 but not since. I know many don't think strip clubs are a big deal, but I personally find them gross. They don't really align with my values
On second thought... I guess I did go to Chippendale's during my bachelorette party! I don't think that really counts though. haha

I never would either. Probably mostly because I'm way too self conscious and shy, but I would also say it would be against my values. But I know a woman who did for awhile when she was younger and she has no regrets. No idea how much money she made.

No, I could never be a stripper. I was, however, a bartender and manager of a club where the female bartenders danced on the bar. We wore some very skimpy out fits. I can't even strip for my husband with out getting the giggle fits. I could never do it and be serious.

I knew someone who stripped and would easily pull in 2k/night. If I had the body to do it, I might have considered it in my 20s, at least for a short time. I don't mind the concept of stripping, but I'm opposed to the skeezy hornbags I'd have to put up with.
I know of strippers who get married and stop stripping. I can't think of anyone who is married that's a stripper.
Would I do it? No. Too many random eyes on me and too many people touching me. If i had to choose, I'd rather be a part-time prostitute/escort for rich people, not the street corner kind.
This might be a naive question, but do a lot of strippers do... um, "more" than strip? I know you can go in the private rooms.. what exactly goes on in these rooms? This is the big thing I have a problem with.
I never would. I have been to strip clubs a few times and have no problem with that, but I just couldn't do it. I do know someone that married a stripper, that met at the strip club, and last I heard she was still stripping. Supposedly he had no problem with that. I would think it has to be awkward since he went with guys he works with so they have all seen her naked now.

I wanted to when I was younger, but I attended a private Christian college that would have kicked me out if they found out. I got married and K was against it. His main worry, at least the one he voiced, was that someone from work would see me and it would be bad news bears for his career.
But yes, I wanted to, and probably would have if things were different. They can make insane money for very little time and it would have fit my schedule nicely.
My sister was a stripper. She made a ton and stopped when she moved and her bf no longer wanted her to strip. She paid off 10,000 of student loans in 6 months.

And yes, bad things do happen in the private rooms. Such as BJ, HJ, outercourse, straight up vag sex. I think that is more for the whores/druggies than just plain classy strippers.

put this way... makes one think ... haha stupid student loans.

Interesting. Someone just posted on the wives page here asking about the best club cause she wanted to work there. It caused ALOT of drama. Could I do it, not unless I was at the point where I had kids and was going to be homeless.
I have mixed feelings on strippers. I kinda feel like live and let live, to each their own. I do feel like a military wife stripping would add a lot of extra issues for her H then another job would...

That's a very valid point. Apparently DH's coworkers were talking about one of the single guys behind his back because they thought it was weird that he went to a strip club by himself (apparently it's okay if you go with a friend). I can't imagine if the wife/SO were a stripper. Especially with DH's current command team being extremely socially conservative.
Personally, the thought never crossed my mind because I've never felt that I had a body type that people would want to see naked or half naked. It's just the truth. Plus, like other people said, when I try to strip or dance for DH, we are likely to bust up laughing.

OMG, I can only imagine how nasty it got. Ha! That's just something you shouldn't admit to in certain environments.

I have a patient that is. E and I discussed it after she had been in one day. I could never because I don't have the self-confidence. E was torn he said that because of the money they make he would be okay with it but he didn't like the idea of other men looking at me without much on.
Strippers often are involved in prositution. This would also deter me because of the morals of the job. Just like I would never attend a for profit school or buy horizons organic products.

I personally would not ever dance, but one of my best friends from high school is a dancer and in a committed relationship. It hasn't changed her personality or anything about her, it's just her job.
1) She makes bank. Anywhere from $500-$1,000 per night for only a few hours. 2) Many dancers have regulars that sometimes just want to sit and talk, and are willing to pay for it. 3) Some dancers are involved in prostitution, but that is their own side deal (it is not the norm for strippers to be prostitutes). At the club my friend works at, if the management finds out that arrangements for that happen on the premises, the dancer is fired. 4) The rules at the club she works at are very strict when it comes to touching, and even dress code. Dancers aren't even allowed to wear see-through panties. 5)Dancing is allowing her to pay for a college education that she would not be able to afford otherwise. 3 jobs and medical school would probably kill her, so she dances.
My husband has never been to a strip club. I've been in the one that my friend works at. I don't think any less of anyone for having this profession. Think about it this way: Trash men are just normal people when they go home at the end of the day; they don't sit around and wallow in trash on their off hours. Same thing goes for dancers. When they get home at night they are just normal girls in sweats and a t-shirt.
Edit: I don't think military spouses should ever entertain the idea of dancing as a profession--that could potentially be a huge problem for the advancement of their spouse's career.
