Thanks for the stories sutnam. I mean, it kind of ruins my childhood memories but they are very interesting. Did you know about the crazy before you applied for the job?

See, you people can't handle the truth!!!!!! (will modify my post to include a warning about shattered youths)
No, I did not know about the crazy. I was new in town and over the moon about working for Lisa Frank. This was my first cray-cray job AND my first job in a right-to-work/at-will state. :-| all around.
From what I understand, they no longer manufacture. She sold off all the inventory a while back, is down to a skeletal staff, and is now apparently launching some kind of comeback where she sells what's left as "vintage." I imagine if that is successful, she will go back into manufacturing again and try to get big again. She is way too narcissistic and psycho to pass on a position of power like that if she has the opportunity.

The truth hurts, lol. As a kid, I liked to think LF was like a fairy queen spending her days bringing joy to little girls everywhere. I also thought Xavier Roberts personally named all of the cabbage patch kids. I may have been a terribly naive child.
Funny day today---was reading reviews of a company and it reminded me of Lisa Frank as employees had same sorts of sentiments I remember from my LF days. Then found a link to a NP article written this summer about the demise of the LF company. Then, I was led to this board. This discussion is a bit old now, so maybe no one will reply. But, I simply HAD to comment!
Lisa Frank Inc. is, bar none, the absolute worst place I have ever worked, will EVER work, and I will go out on a limb and wager that every single former employee besides the former VP, Rhonda Rowlette, would agree. When I read some of the other postings and think about my time at the company, I am truly shocked that these people weren't taken to task by the law. I think it was just their luck to have "struck it LUCKY" in the 80s and 90s-----'cause there's just NO WAY one of their crazy abusive tantrums wouldn't have been all over YouTube today! I have to burst your bubble, LFI lovers, because the woman behind the company has a reputation as being a dishonest and cruel person who'd sooner take candy from one of your babies then give them a free made-in-China rainbow-embellished pencil!
Here's a few fun stories: Lisa Frank has, from the very beginning, hired artists to develop the concepts and the art behind everything she has ever produced. Her husband, James Green, was the brain and the business mind behind the company. Without him, it was doomed to fail--along, of course, with the fact that it was a fad that had long seen its day by their divorce in 2005. It's true: they fired people over the phone, fired them on Sundays, fired people who had been with them for 15 years (EXTREMELY RARE though because most people left within months), screamed at employees, and created a constant and CONSISTENT workplace environment of hostility and fear among employees.
Lisa Frank, and for that matter, her ex-husband, James, along with the executor of their bad behavior, Rhonda, deserve to be right where they are now: OUT OF BUSINESS. Don't give these people your money by buying so-called "vintage" stickers from Urban Outfitters, etc. Keep your money. Take a long, hard look at that dollar bill in your hand and recognize the value of it: it shouldn't be wasted on Lisa Frank's attempt to reinvent the fantasy she created by the art she had other people create. She's not an artist. She's not a woman who loved children. She's not a creative person. And, considering the latest news on her company, she's not even a good business woman. She has bilked Tucson business woman and men out of thousands of dollars with her dishonest tactics. She has broken the law by hiring illegal workers. She has unfairly fired employees and then fought to deny them unemployment benefits and their last earned paydays. It's time for this money train to turn around: Lisa Frank and James Green need to live off what they've earned off the backs of others while they were in business. I hope no one will invest another dollar in any of their worthless trinkets going forward.
I worked for her. She is a raging psycopath and a horrible, horrible person. You would not believe the stories i could tell you. Crazy ass horrible bitch. All the moms i know dont even let their kids buy that shit. LFs hq are here so its pretty well known around town how she and her company are.
a) this makes me very sad, but shouldn't be surprising. b) Seriously, how do we have the same name on here? It's really throwing me off!
ETA: Just realized this is an old post that got bumped.

The other BL has "sutnam" as a username but apparently changed her display name to Bob Loblaw as well.
I see. Not cool, Bob2.0. Not cool.
Okay, this is f-ing weird. I did change my name to Bob Loblaw some time ago. I rarely ever posted under "sutnam" and didn't like the name. I had no idea there was another Bob Loblaw, or that it would even allow two people to register under the same name.

You're not registered as Bob Loblaw. The poster you quoted is.
I'm not kidding here. Wow. Just wow. Thanks for your old comments--it made for a fun night of "searching" and "sleuthing!" These 3 people are nut jobs.......Good riddance, Tucson!
I've actually been working on a story about LFI and speaking to former employees. If pueblo and some funny name could email me that would awesome. (It won't let me send private messages on here.) tracie at jezebel dot com

Well, I doubt you'd get anyone willing to go "on the record" since Lisa Frank and Lisa Frank, Inc. sues literally everyone they come in contact with! However, maybe now that Ms. Frank and ex James Green and the ever-lovely Rhonnnnnnda are all Born-again Christians, they will not be so nasty! Still, this is all such a hoot! Finding the jameschristianman.com web site and seeing this truly LOATHSOME horrible person stumping for Jesus Christ now is the crazy stuff you just can't make up! And, little Miss Rhonda as "VP" of Green's parent company, "Salvation," is so cute that I think I see an halo above her head on FB. As for Lisa Frank joining the Fundamentalists--- well now THAT puts the crown on their "king of kings."
This is at least some excellent Tucson gossip, and this little town talks. In fact, from the info on their various bible-thumping web presences, it sounds like this evil "trinity" has finally been run right out of the Old Pueblo.
...............and, dare I say, that with all that money, Lisa Frank should have paid someone to put her under the tender press for a few minutes to try to smooth out those angry wrinkle.
