I had a scheduled c/s due to size, and I am thankful that I did. Henry weighed 10 4 oz, and his head was so bug the caps at the hospital didn't fit. His head is off the charts big now. I hope my ob doesn't try to talk me into a VBAC when the time comes.
When I read posts like this, or many others from the bump, I feel like an oddball. But, my recovery was very easy. I did have ppd and I wonder if part of that was from not labor ing and pushing.

probably, there is a significant increase in incidence of PPD in women who have c/s.
and it's likely your OB won't push or even mention VBAC even though it's generally safer and should at least be discussed as an option so that Mom can make an informed decision either way.
Besides malpractice worries, I'd imagine very few OBGYN residents are learning how to deliver breech babies vaginally in residency when no or few attendings do so.
If insurance companies want to reduce c sections, they should cover doula services for those who are interested. Mine was $750 and I would have most likely had a c section without her.
My insurance did cover 80% of my doula after I had hit my deductible that year. But I know I am really lucky in that respect. Part of my rush to get a BFP soon is that I want to have another baby before DH switches jobs and we lose his fantastic insurance.
