Purchased October 2008. Started renovation June 2011. Still in progress...

We really never used it. Between the other back door and the carport door we had plenty of outdoor access, the roof and railings were completely shot, and the kitchen could really use the counter space we gained. So we went for it. No regrets so far!
you did a great job blending the old door back in with the bricks - did you DIY or hire out?
We hired out all the outside work. Masonry that advanced is WAY beyond our skills. And futzing with the structure of the roof in rebuilding that front porch and adding the eaves - yeah, I like bonded professionals to do stuff like that.
This bathroom was hard to get a shot of because it was so tiny. The first picture is the toilet side of the bathroom - the 2nd is the shower, which is sorta hidden behind the door in the 1st picture. These two photos are the entire bathroom. The shower itself was bigger in footprint than the rest of the bathroom. The bathroom had two doors (one from the laundry room, one from the original guest room), which if both opened would hit each other. The door shown to the right of the shower is the one shown open in the first picture, and that photo was taken from the other doorway.
After:
During:
During framing - the view of the future bathroom from the new doorway.
The plan for the new bathroom drawn on the floor in preperation for installing the new drains. The old shower drain is visible in the top of this picture. The original bathroom footprint is the tan area of concrete.
Another tiny bathroom. This is really the whole thing.
After:Not done yet!
In Progress: Demolition!! The left side is where the master bath used to be...the rest of this demo'd space is a combo of what used to be the hall bath, our master bedroom closet, and a linen closet.
View from the doorway looking toward where the sink and toilet used to be (about mid way through this shot). That's the tub from what used to be the hall bath.
View through the doorway after framing and a new subfloor. Our best friend/electrician/awesome helperdude lurking behind the gray blob. Other dude is MH. (they were marking out where the shower curb would go)
After the plumbing rough-in. Our plumber was an idiot. check out the spaghetti mess on that back wall.
