Just got a letter from United Healthcare that negotiations between them and St. Joe's are not looking good, and that as of 11/26 I am no longer covered if I deliver there. My OB only delivers at St. Joe's. Grrrh ...
I'm hoping that they figure stuff out, because I have no interest in finding a new OB at this point.
Omg! That's nuts. I'm sorry:( I have United too and would be venting all over the place if I got that news during my pregnancy. I hope it works out so you don't have to OB shop.

They almost always figure that stuff out. We had an issue with Aetna and Morton Plant when I worked for BayCare. It was resolved like 3 days after the contract ended. By the time you give birth I'm sure it'll be negotiated.
That sucks. Even if it is resolved, there's a good chance the dr actually delivering the baby will not be your OB. I think I would stick with the hospital you prefer & hope for the best.

I hope that it is resolved quickly and becomes a non-issue for you!
My original OB (the one who delivered my son, and pretty much all my friends' kids too) quit delivering babies just 2 months before Maisy was due. I loved my OB and was devastated to have to switch so soon before having her. The OB I switched to was VERY different than my old one, and it was really hard to get used to someone else so late in the game! In the end though, he was absolutely awesome when it came the birth, and I'm excited to have him as my doctor again for this pregnancy. But I can definitely relate to how unsettling to have to switch OBs when it isn't up to you.
