What are you paying for your domestic flight

around the holidays?

The most decent flight I've found is $600 leaving Christmas eve.... from CA to FL. Still deciding if we should do it or not. We'd be looking at about $1500 for the two of us plus our dog.

We paid $500 from JFK to LAX on the 24th.

I think SEA to DTW was something like $650 a couple weeks ago, but first really wasn't much more and I'm flying alone so I opted for that.

Are you pricing flights out of SAN or LAX? Its sometimes cheaper to fly in and out of LAX and park in the ecomony lot at LAX.

I was looking at SAN but maybe I'll look and see what LAX has to offer. Usually we do LAX for bigger flights but this is probably worth a try.

We paid $800 from San Francisco to Helsinki ;-)

Not domestic, I know (and probably not all that helpful to the OP). I just can't stomach the idea of paying that much to fly within the US so I usually travel internationally instead and then celebrate with family another time.

That said....I can't see the price of domestic flights going down between now and the holidays. I'd book now before the price rises even more.

Does Hawaii count as domestic? It would make you cry. I can go to NZ for less than it costs to visit my family in Florida. Actually, I paid the same to fly to Spain last May that I'll pay for Christmas.

I think $350-$400 or so. Flying Dec. 22-26, all east coast travel. But I also booked it about a month ago.
