I'm still using the same suitcase I bought back in '99 and I'm ready to upgrade!
Wants: spinner, sturdy/well made (obviously), large (we typically travel for 1-2 weeks at a time), lots of compartments, under $225.
I currently have a Samsonite and it's held up well. Couldn't tell you where I bought it, so if you have a favorite store/website w good deals, I'd love that too!
We like our Samsonite Lift luggage. It is really light. The only drawback is that our big suitcase is so roomy and fits so much stuff that it can be hard to pack it without going over weight limits!

We also have Samsonites that have held up really well to our frequent travel and abuse. I don't remember which model, but we got them at Macy's 3 years ago or so. If you watch Macy's, they have pretty good sales on luggage pretty frequently.
I bought the lightest-weight soft-sided spinner they had at the Samsonite outlet. It was around $300, but it has literally been all over the world. I've hauled it on at least 4 or 5 overseas flights each year for the past 3 or 4 years, and the only problem I've had was when someone in Argentina broke into it. Other than scuff marks, it's had no damage at all. And I am hard on my luggage. Yesterday I dragged it bumping down a flight of stairs in the train station (with 60 lbs of stuff inside) because I couldn't be bothered to wait for the tiny elevator. I swear this bag is invincible.

I bought two Samsonite carry ons from Marshall's for $80 each, great quality held up well. They are much more at luggage stores and department stores... for the same item. I love the spinners so much more than two wheels!
