I can't recommend the REI wheeling duffels enough. We have the 'tech beast' and 'wheely beast' models' and use them all the time. There's a large one and a carry on. I use the larger ones for long trips, and the carry on size for overnights. Seriously, I used to go through luggage and break wheels, zippers, etc. These are very well made. They are a little pricey, but actually we got ours three years ago on cyber Monday for almost 50% off, so you could check the REI website for deals this week!
It's easy to carry, I like the outside pocket, and it easily carries my and MH's clothes for a weekend trip. And you can wash it in the washing machine and fold it flat when it's empty.

I like mine too except only I can pack in it. My husband overpacks like a woman and usually has more crap than me so he needs his own bag.
