Another newbie question--mascara

I don't know if I rub my eyes or if I'm wearing the wrong kind of mascara, but I often end up with mascara smeared under my eyes by the end of the day. Is there a type of mascara that can prevent this, or do I need to quit touching my eyes ever? I am currently using Cover Girl Lash Blast Length (in the yellow tube).

Some mascaras definitely are more prone to this. Look for waterproof mascara and try not to rub your eyes!

Certain mascaras do this to me, even if I don't touch my eyes. I just had to try a few different ones to find the ones that don't smear.

I've noticed that the orange and the purple tubes both kind of flake off onto my eyes. I think it's just these Cover Girl mascaras. Try something different? I can't give any recs, because I'm trying out different kinds myself.

Clinique in the silver tube (I can't recall the exact name, sorry!) isn't billed as waterproof, but has never once flaked or smudged on my oily skin.

Bad Gal Lash does this very little to me.

Wearing primer under my eye shadow seems to help--no idea why. Maybe prevents my eyelid from getting oily?

I use Dior lash primer under any mascara I wear.

I also just bought (but haven't used yet) Blinc mascara because it gets really good reviews for not flaking or smudging.
