Tell me about Ulta

There's an Ulta store near my job and I've never been inside. Anything good there? My sister said it's mainly hair products.

Speaking of Sis, she just became a hairdresser, so is there anything there that'd make a nice Christmas gift? And MH has a 16 year old cousin whom I normally shop at Sephora/Lush for Christmas ... would Ulta have something good for her?

Ulta has some mid-priced makeup brands (urban decay, benefit, stila, bare minerals, etc.), and tons of drugstore stuff. They do have lots of hair stuff, including tools.

It's not my favorite place, but it's decent.

I prefer to shop at Ulta if I'm just stocking up on some of my usual products. I like that they have drugstore brands in the same place, sales and coupons. I almost exclusively buy drugstore brand stuff there with coupons and get things for cheaper than I would anywhere else. I also buy my shampoo there and stockpile it when it goes on sale. Ulta is less crowded than both of our Sephora stores, so it is less stressful to shop there. I go to Sephora if I need make-up advice or want to purchase a product that I've never tried before.
