No. I like rodeos and stuff, and I wear boots often, but no special meaning or anything. My mom just bought it at the local drug store and told me to be sure and leave the tag on it because it might be collectable some day.
My mom is pretty terrible so I will just go with a recent one. Last Christmas I got a package of "Bump-its", you know, the Snookie-like hair accessory. It still had the price sticker from the thrift store where she got it for $1. There are many, many others but this one was good. My SILs and I had a great time with the bump-its that Christmas (after I washed them, of course).
Also, for my last birthday DH's grandparents gave me a used Visa gift card. It didn't have any money on it and Grandpa had signed the back of the card before he used it. They are old so I just give them credit for remembering my birthday at all.
My mom has started to get pretty awful for Christmas. This year I specifically asked for donations to a few of our favorite charities, but Im not so sure she will follow through...
Last year she sent me and DH: A dinosaur coloring book with crayons, a dinosaur hat that is shaped like a real dinosaur head, and a toy set where you can dig in a sandbox for dinosaur bones. Our guess is these are targeted at DH who likes Jurassic Park. There was also a set of four cheap, plastic snowman placemats, a mini travel "go fish" game, and a plastic doll.
What the fuck, we are in our early 30s and do not have / want kids. Mom, save your pennies and dont ship us a bunch of crappy toys.
We donated some stuff and brought the little dino set to our 3 year old nephew, who loved it. Yes, age appropriate for someone who is 29 years younger than your daughter.
