She sent me a beautiful snowflake ornament that she purchased from an art gallery near her home. I wish I had a picture on our tree, because I am sure it will look beautiful against the lights! (Everything is packed right now so you'll have to settle for this phone PIP, which doesn't do it justice.)



I also got two yummy recipes, one for Cinnamon Roll Coffee Cake and one for her Grandma's White Velvet Cream Cheese Cookies. They look delish and I plan to bake them for sure before Christmas once I am unpacked in my new kitchen.

So this is how it went down.

I went to the mailbox while on the phone with MIL. See a box, it's from IN and I'm like "YES! I GOT BOILER!!!! SWEEET! This is like, guaranteed awesome!" To which MIL replied, "huh?" So I told her I had to go. I'm sure she thought I was having an episode.

She even wrapped it pretty:


And inside:


LOVE THEM!!!! They're absolutely perfect! I didn't want to share my mantle on the holiday decor thread because it was just all wrong:


But now, the owls tie the wreath into the rest of it!!!

Kaylie drew me. I opened the box and said out loud in my kitchen to myself, "Oh my God, it's GORGEOUS!!" You did SUCH a good job, Kaylie! I love it!

The picture's a little hard to see, but it's glass with an exact duplicate of the outer ornament blown inside it in silver. Really stunning!

I'm so glad you like them!! I remember reading your post and thinking "hmmm, animals, rustic, and glitter....how am I going to do this?!?" And then I saw the owls at West Elm and may have done some dances in the store. Then I freaked out that because they were clips they didn't count as ornaments and I would get voted off the D&R island!

They fit perfect with your decor. I love your mantle.
