"I am considering taking a year off of work which will mean a huge cut in our finances (my husband will be a medical resident so he won't be earning much) and probably a huge sacrifice to my career. I want to know if there is a big difference between being taken care of by mommy (me) or a nanny.
Does anybody know any good books or articles on the subject?"
There was a post on the What to Expect board yesterday where the chick was basically like "I'm sick of working. I don't feel like working pregnant. I think I'm going to quit my job".
Then come to find out that her BF makes $13/hour (the way she worded it... you would've thought he made $300k a year) and they're planning on buying a house soon.
But yeah, quitting your job, having a kid, buying a house and doing that all on ONE $13/hour income sounds FANTASTIC!
