Ok, thanks to Fox and fia talking me down a bit...I narrowed it down to A and C. And after debate w/ MH I'm gonna add a teeny bit more of the purple to C and go with that. It reads pretty solidly gray in artificial light, but is more purple in daylight. Works for me.
(MH still wanted B. I told him no. It's too girly girl.)
we ended up getting into this ridiculous debate about gray in a kid's room, and I figured out that apparently for the past 2 years when I've been saying, "When we have kids, I want to hang that owl print in the nursery and do the walls in either blueish gray if it's a boy and purpleish gray if it's a girl" He was HEARING blue and purple. Not gray. And apparently he just has this picture of a more typical little kiddish nursery in his head and hadn't really been picturing the more grownup look I was aiming at.
He actually said this: "If you use that color the whole room is going to be gray!"
Ummmm....yes, that's how paint works.
He glared at me and we changed the subject for a little while, but I guess he thought about it and eventually came back and suggested adding a smidge more purple to that color (which I'm fine with) and then doing the stencil in a true dark gray to bring out more of the purple in C since it looks purple on it's own, but gray next to an actual purple.
Works for me!
So something between these two (both of which I think look really nice behind the owl prints.), but closer to the second one.
Although seriously, in pictures I realize these look so similar that my freaking out over them is really kinda silly.
