Look Closer by David Ellis (suspense/thriller) Murder Road by Simone St. James (thriller with a dash of paranormal) Funny Story by Emily Henry (typical, fluffy Emily Henry romance.

I slogged through the Other Valley, but I liked it!
My kindle version of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn have these weird typos where it smushes every third paragraph together, and I find it so annoying and frustrating.
I’m currently reading The Wishing Game. I’ve heard great things about it but so far about a third of the way through I’m not loving it. I also got notice yesterday that my library hold on The Women by Kristen Hannah is in. I’m very excited to get started on that one. I have loved several other Kristen Hannah books.

I mostly read romance, but lately I have been loving Eve: How the Female Body Drove 200 Million Years of Human Evolution. It's fascinating. Also, despite the premise being about the typical XX body, it's trans-inclusive in case anyone is afraid it's some TERF biological essentialism.
I started Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano. Granted, I listen to it while I fall asleep so I end up back tracking a lot which is fine. I like it so far.
I'm reading Jar of Hearts (free on KU). I'm about halfway through and while I'm enjoying it, it bugs me when the author is vague about what's really going on. I know it's to make it twist-y but JFC, get to the point, lol. I do enjoy the premise, but I can already tell it's one of those that I'm going to complain about being too long (probably the biggest complaint about many of the books I read).

I recently finished the Sicilian Inheritance by Jo Piazza which was very fun. I’m currently reading North Woods by Daniel Mason. It’s reminding me that I find 19th century US history boring.
I recently read She's Not Sorry by Mary Kubica. I give it four stars.
It started out a bit slow. I actually put it down for a couple weeks and read other books but I'm glad I picked it back up. About 30% of the way in, it started picking up and I flew through it after the halfway mark. I ended up really enjoying it.
Now I'm debating my next book. I think it'll be either Megan Miranda's latest or Holly Jackson's new novel (she is the author of the Good Girl's Guide to Murder Series).
I'm about 90 pages in (kindle says 12%) to Wellness by Nathan Hill.... does it get better? Not sure I want to devote another 600 pages unless it gets more interesting

I kept falling asleep with my kindle hitting my face with that one.
Finished The Measure based on recommendations here. I loved it and I 100000% would look.
In the middle of Seventy Times Seven, which is about a horrific case in which a 15 year old girl committed a horrifying crime and was sentenced to death for it. I actually remembered this case, and how one of the relatives of the victim and the international community came to put pressure on the legal system to spare this girl’s life. It is a very compelling read.
I read a compilation of short horror stories, which I remember liking, although some of them were too out there for my taste. If you like that genre, I am happy to look back at my library stats and find the title for you.

I almost stopped reading and I kept going and ended up loving it.
I'm reading At Least You Have Your Health. It's about an Indian gynecologist that is fired from her hospital for angering the wife of the owner. She gets in with a natural provider, but is finding out it's much more sinister than she thought and she's trying to decide what to do. It's okay, but not really a page turner.
I'm stuck trying to find an audiobook. All the ones I requested at the library have 6+ week waits, and I don't have a podcast that's sucking me in.
I do have an Audible credit, but I want to use it wisely lol.
The following I have on hold...which would you spend your credit on?
The Women Demon Copperhead Just for Summer Under the Bridge Black Cake Lady Tan's Circle of Women
Or something else entirely?
I liked Black Cake a lot. I'm an outlier here in that I did not love Demon Copperhead. I disliked the Bee Sting, but one of the reasons was that with no punctuation for large parts, I found it hard to read. It may be better as an audio book.
I'm still reading Shelf Life: Chronicles of a Cairo Bookseller. I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. It's written by a woman who started a chain of bookstores in Egypt. I know pretty much nothing about Egypt, so I feel like I'm learning, but in an interesting way, not a dry textbook way. I just received my copy of ADHD is Awesome, by the Holdernesses. DS has ADHD and I'm hoping we can read through it together.

I just finished it as an audiobook yesterday, and I thought it was very well done. The no punctuation thing wasn't on my radar, and they have different narrators for different characters, so that made the very last part easier to follow than I imagine it might have been reading it.
Still, I feel like I need to go back and re-read or re-listen to the last section. It was so wonderfully chaotic, as was intended, I'm sure.

I LOVED the Bee Sting.
I really liked it too. The first parts with the characters' histories dragged for me a bit, but all that character development and history was really worth it. It reminded me a lot of Jonathan Franzen books.
The secret society of irregular witches Elsewhere The glass castle Me before you The last unicorn Pachinko (quite long, often very sad, worth it imo)
I Was Anastasia was okay, I hadn’t expected sunshine and rainbows given the topic, but quite prepared for a litany of misery and frustration that it was.
I started Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano. Granted, I listen to it while I fall asleep so I end up back tracking a lot which is fine. I like it so far.
I read this in one day and LOVED it.
I just put down The Wager. I DNF even though it’s supposed to be great.
I just finished Damaged: After the coma, after the headlines, the story of a family. It was interesting but kind of pissed me off. I’m now reading Dear Edward but the same author as Hello Beautiful. So far it’s good. I’m pretty obsessed with my Kindle!
I just finished Yours Truly by Abby Jiminez (contemporary romance). I really enjoyed it, but it was a bit heavy on the easily cleared up misunderstanding trope.
I enjoy all of her books. This one was a slow burn at first and I think the first 15% or so could have gone a bit faster. But then it picked up pace and I flew through it. I did guess the main culprit early on but it didn’t take away from enjoying the book.
