This was a lot more frequent at my last job that was really poorly managed and had really insufficient supports in place for huge problems. My new org has huge boats!
Itâs a lot more light hearted in my personal life. Like, when we pack the car. Then itâs just funny.
Oh my goodness, so many. Most of them are from 90s movies I loved in childhood.
"You go and do something like this...AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF" and "so you're saying there's a chance?" - Dumb and Dumber.
My brother and I like to quote the Fugitive to each other a lot - "I don't care" said in Tommy Lee Jones's voice and "I.don't.bargain."
"I'm looking for Ray Finkle. And a clean pair of shorts. " and "That's none of your damn business and I'll thank you to stay out of my personal affairs." and "If I'm not back in 5 minutes, just wait longer." - Ace Ventura
This is a TV show, but one of my kids tries to describe something to us that is completely non-sensical, MH and I say "Why don't you just tell me the name of the movie you want to see?" (From Seinfeld, where they published Kramer's number as the MoviePhone number and he tries to provide the movie times to callers.)
The kids, of course, have no idea what we are talking about.
"Talk to me, Goose." (TG) I said it yesterday to my contractor.
"These are broken, mine are broken." (Pretty Woman) Said at work. Almost everyday. Mostly about f-ed up things at said work that my crew is expected to fix but didn't mess up in the first place.
âI deal with the god damn customers so the engineers donât have to! I have people skills!â From Office Space. Usually replacing âengineersâ with titles from my office.
"These are broken, mine are broken." (Pretty Woman) Said at work. Almost everyday. Mostly about f-ed up things at said work that my crew is expected to fix but didn't mess up in the first place.
lol I use this a lot too
Also, âItâsâŚitâs French!â From Corky Romano. Complete with hand motion.
I feel like I donât have 1 go to that I use all the time. I do however have random ones get triggered by conversations that Iâm having and pop one.
The quote I use most is from the tv show Archer and itâs â you want ants? Cause thatâs how you get antsâ usually to H because he drops things/leaves them laying around.

âItâs all happeningâ - Almost Famous
âThese are the jokes, kidâ - Monster, Inc.
Not necessarily a quote but DD and I can only say âwafflesâ like donkey in Shrek. And from Shrek the Halls âoh, a *family* Christmasâ is quoted a lot around our house
âHave fun storming the castle!â - Princess Bride. Appropriate in many situations.
and H and I scream âBUMPASSES!â From A Christmas Story, for like anything that goes wrong around the house.Â
My husband has about 1,000 types of adhesives, but never the one he needs. I am always accused " What did you do with my glue?" And I paraphrase "I used up all your glue on purpose!"
