I just got an email that Noggin is going away and you can subscribe to Paramount plus to watch some of the shows.
I don’t want to do that, because I liked having a safe app for my kid’s tablet that had shows we know and learning games. I also am not interested in another full content streaming service. We don’t watch half of what we pay for.
We have only PBS kids and Noggin on there now. What other similar services or app do your kids have? (Pre-K/Kindergarten)
We have nothing special just for the kids. They didn't have tablets but we had Noggin for a while on the TV and we have PBS. They have access to all the other apps on the TV but they have their own kid profiles on Disney + and Max (and maybe other apps too on their dad's TV, those are the ones I know of on mine). And I have to keep strict tabs on what they watch so they don't watch stuff I don't approve. This was an issue when the younger one discovered he could access YouTube on the TV by himself around age 4. Now they only watch certain shows or genres so even though they have so much access, they're not trying to explore too much random stuff because they know I can hear it and I will shut it down.
My twins are newly 5. They have and like- Khan Academy Kids (free), and the next biggest one they use besides Noggin is Starfall. We did pay to upgrade finally to the paid Starfall version during covid when my daughter was almost 5 and boys were almost 3. They love it, and I've found it well worth the $30 annual family price. My 1st grader is doing fractions!
We have PBS kids for shows. I also at one point figured out how to download specific YouTube videos to her fire profile so I have a few random DannyGo and cosmic kid yoga videos. I can't figure out how I did it now though, but it didn't let you access anything else on YouTube which I liked because I feel like YouTube is just a cesspool lol.
For games also PBS kids, starfall, Khan academy, and ABCya. Tbh I don't think she can do too much on ABCya because I don't pay for it, but they use it at school and she asked to have it downloaded.
