I am in the middle of a FHA Streamline Refi through my current mortgage holder. I just got a call from the mortgage reviewer basically accusing me of not owning my home. Evidently some where that they pull their info from says that some builder I have never heard of is listed as owing the home.
WTF what do I do about this??? I have owned the home for 3 yrs now. Who do I start screaming at?
I'm not an expert, but I would probably contact my Title Insurance company first. Home ownership is the sort of thing they deal with so they probably would have good advice about how to proceed.
Get a copy of any documentation from the refi loan processor that clarifies exactly what the problem is. No one can do much to help you with just a vague explanation of what might have been found.
Look through your closing docs and find your title insurance company's contact info. Calmly explain the problem once you have the info. Hopefully they can help.
If you don't get somewhere with them quickly enough, call the attorney that represented you in the closing (hopefully there was one) and explain the problem to the attorney.
This may very well be fixable, or even an error on the part of the processor. Maybe a deed didn't get filed correctly? Maybe something else? Be proactive, but good lord, be reasonable to deal with. The people you want to scream at probably had nothing to do with this mistake.
If you don't know, yes. Call the title company where you closed when you bought. That's what I did when I had a title issue and needed to use my insurance.

LOL.
A lot of your post makes no sense. If your current mortgage reviewer (who works for the same company as your current loan is at now) did his/her job, she would have inquired internally. Title insurance companies record the Deed and the mortgage at the same time, and mortgage companies ensure the documents are rightfully recorded thereafter.
Are you sure your current mortgage reviewer pulled a title report, and not some BS third-rate website? Did she research the right address/parcel number?
And another thing, did you purchase your house from A homebuilder? Maybe that was their corporate/dba name, which is why it does not sound familiar? If so, then you could likely have a problem.
This happened to me a few years ago. I called the closing attorney and the title company and they resolved it. Our situation was a little worse in that the builder was being foreclosed on and because our home was still in his name it appeared we were being foreclosed on. Breathe, it sounds like something you can work thru.

I called my banker and he said the processor jumped the gun by calling me and that he is not even sure there is an actual issue anyway he says he is driving over to the processors office later this afternoon and will call me back. He said quote "no need to panic"

Call your escrow/title company and go from there.
I actually have no idea what they pulled and where they pulled it from. I purchased the home from the original owner who I believe purchased it from the builder. Although I am floored I believe that there is a goof somewhere b/c if there really was a real error would the name they asked me about be the previous owner not some builder I do not recognize?
