I just realized I should probably get gifts for B’s teachers at his pre-school. I really don’t want to go the GC route, even though I’m sure those are preferred…but I just feel like they’re impersonal. On the other hand, I don’t know his teachers on a personal level to get them something thoughtful. I thought about doing a cute gift basket w/ some baked goods/chocolates that I’ll make, but I feel like they’ll already be getting a bunch of stuff like that.
Teachers/moms…what are good gift ideas? I’d need to do two gifts, so preferably nothing over $50.
….I feel like there was a thread about this not too long ago, but I can’t remember if it was on here or another board I post on….
My mom was a teacher and she would tell you to go the gift card route. Teachers end up with so much "stuff" every year that it's a total pain and they usually throw most of it out. Maybe you could have your DS draw her a picture or something to add a personal touch.

I was going to say pretty much the same thing. She would get so much junk (i.e. cheap lotions and perfumes and candles) that she would box it up and take it to Goodwill pretty soon after Christmas. I think a gift card and like pdx said a picture or something to make it a little more personal.

My stepmom also prefers the gift cards. It's because she gets so much "crap" and literally everything but the GCs and a few personalized items that say Mrs.Xxx on them, end up at Goodwill.

I teach HS, so I know that is waaaay different, but I thought I would add anyway. For the most part, teachers love school supplies :-) so maybe post-its, stickers, highlighters, etc? That kind of thing? Or maybe your DS could make her an ornmanent(s)?
I don't know if you are on Pinterest, but they have lots of cutesy teacher-like gifts. Those closed mouth water tumblers with drink packets all wrapped up inside, packing up a Starbucks gift card in an actual (unused) Starbucks cup, etc. I think on some these gifts it's more about the packaging and the thought than the actual gift.
Or maybe just bring in donuts and coffee sometime during the last week before break? I'd love any of these!

Lots of great suggestions, ladies, thank you! I do know both of them are coffee lovers…maybe a SB gift card in a cute mug? Or do teachers get a lot of mugs? I have some leftover 5x7 canvases that I could have DS do some kind of painting on – I pinned a site with over 100 handprint/footprint picture ideas. Maybe he could do that for them?
Even if they don’t do anything with what DS makes for them, I at least want his teachers to know I’m thinking of them. I’m already planning on writing a nice note in their cards because I really love what they’re doing for DS, so hopefully that’ll be the “thoughtful” part of their gift.

If they love coffee then I would definitely go with it. I feel like teachers would get a ton of coffee mugs. Maybe some "gourmet" coffee, or a nice travel mug?
I like the school supply thing. Most teachers have to buy them on their own so maybe make a little basket with some sticky notes, pens, dry erase markers, and toss in a gc for staples.

What about some supplies in a gift basket with a GC to Staples/Office Depot? Or hell Dollar Tree. My stepmom LOVES that place for school supplies bc she teaches 1st grade, and a lot of the goodies there are age appropriate for her classroom.

I was a preschool teacher and I loved GC's I think a gift card with a nice card with a honest thank you from you about why you like what they do and have your son draw on the other side of the card. Cards are easy to keep. write the date in the bottom corner of the card.
I'm totally late to the party, but what I've done for all of my kids' teachers is make a "winter survival kit". I buy a paint can from a hardware store, have the kiddo decorate with stickers and then fill the can with warm things....stretch gloves, hat, can of soup, packets of hot chocolate, etc.

OH this reminds me of the one time I gave out a soup mug with a bag of soup (like bear creek) and wrote a tag that said " Thank you for the SOUPER job you do" Or the candy bar sayings with candy bars.
