Hmm, hadn't noticed. Just seems like a bad financial decision to buy a depreciating asset instead of renting a place. And apparently you can't even move them. I really don't see the point.
Yeah, b/t this and weightloss surgery post yesterday, just seems like a lot.
Maybe you're just asking genuine questions and I'm misinterpreting, but they come across judgey.
Probably. The WLS is admitedly judgy and I felt bad even posting it but the person is a little out there to begin with so I have a lot of doubts. She appeared in several threads throughout the years for those with good memories.

You can move them. Trailers are pretty common down here.
If it cost $30k & you live there for 15-20 years, you'd definitely likely spend less than you'd spend to rent an apartment for that amount of time. You'd have it paid off in 5 years with a payment of $500-600/mo, depending on your interest rate. People here spend more than that for cars, and they don't last nearly as long.
I'm on hold with fucking Starbucks for the second time in a month regarding their rewards program. Give me back my missing 23 stars! The first time I called, they said it was a system-wide issue, and they'd have stars back within 48 hours. That was, like, 3 weeks ago. I should be gold by now, dammit, not green.

Ah, ok, I hadn't thought of it that way. Thank you.

I bet they're doing it on purpose, assuming that most people won't bother calling (also, assuming that so many stars give you a free drink.)
Bastards! I've purchased 34 overpriced drinks in the last 2 months. I want my freaking credit!
I had a dream last night that SO and I went to the movies with my family and his family showed up as a surprise so he could propose in front of everyone. My little brother ruined it for him because he asked where the box was, ha.
I don't like dreaming about a proposal. Makes me feel like less of a feminist or something lol.
Before I was engaged I had a dream that H proposed to me with a rock. Like a pebble in place of the diamond. It scared me :/
I've never known someone who lived in a mobile home. I thought you rented them?
I guess it goes either way but from the Needs Help post it seems like you can buy the home, pay lot rent and it's prohibitively expensive to move them. Why not just rent an apartment if you can't afford to buy a non mobile home?
A lot of rural areas don't have a lot of rental units available. I've joked with H that I want a trailer near campus so I don't have to drive the 35 miles home if I have a late night at work.
When I was little, my parents rented a mobile home. I have a special fondness for them. I remember seeing a plot of mobile homes along the PCH in Malibu. I'd totally buy one of those.
I just went to Bloomingdale's to return a blazer and a sweatshirt that I bought online. When the SA processed the return of the blazer, she was like "This is ugly. I'm glad you returned it." Really? (Also, I had returned it more because I the fit than the look :/ )

No, most people own the mobile home, but they pay lot rent. There are quite a few places that don't have apartments. I live in a town that doesn't have apartments and grew up in one that didn't get apartments until I was in HS.
I've watched the video of Mariah Carey singing Christmas songs with Jimmy Fallon and the Roots an embarrassing number of times in the last 24 hours.
Also, I caved on extending an extra credit deadline for one of my classes since I just couldn't listen to them whine anymore. Now I'll have to rush to grade everything at the end of the semester.
I found out yesterday that DH's step dad (he had been recently divorced from his mom) committed suicide and just found out that a girl I know had labor complication which lead to her baby now being on life support.
