I can see him asking for half the wedding costs and whatever she took out of their joint account that was truly his (if he could even prove that). If this chick had such an issue with such an extravagant wedding, she should have spoken up sooner - or not have been buying a $6000 dress (per the Today show this morning...I honestly did not read the linked article).
But, on the other hand, this chick had called off the wedding a couple of years ago and then they got back together. What's that saying? Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice, shame on me...
I think she sucks, but I'm not sure he has a case unless she signed something saying she was supposed to pay for the stuff or would pay him back if the wedding was called off. He may have something for the joint account money, and unless she was on the lease or whatever for the apartment, I'm not sure he can come after her for that rent.
Basically, even though she sucks and she should pay that money, unless he has things in writing, I'm not sure that legally she's liable for any of that.
He has a case. RE:“For a girl to say, ‘I want a small wedding,’ and yet buying a $6,000 wedding dress, it’s a little ridiculous.’’ I would have a small wedding so I could buy a $6,000 dress.. but it would be a dress I could wear more than once.

She was on the lease for the apartments. She insisted upon it. He said he was fine with that because they were suppose to be married and then all of the money would be shared anyway.

Then he could come after her for that money and possibly the shared checking account money, but I'm not sure on wedding costs.

I don't know. She's clearly a bitch, but legally, I'm not sure he has a case. For instance, how can he say what she's entitled to in a JOINT account? It's a joint account!

That's where I'm at, Liz. From a moral standpoint, yes, she should pay it back. From a legal standpoint? Yeah...not so much.
