Before the recession my work had annual 3% "merit" increases (almost everyone got it, and there's no COLA). It was suspended for a few years and no one got any raises, but in summer 2011 they brought it back at a rate of 2%. So in September of this year I got a 2% raise. I don't have a huge salary so it doesn't add up to much.

We get them every year. Normal is anywhere from 1%-4%. This year between an excellent review and later a promotion (although I had already been doing the work for quite a while) my salary increased 13%.
I've always at least gotten a token raise. I took an increase when I switched jobs in July, and got an in crease in January 2012 with my last employer. It was only .5%, though, since I'd only been with the company for 5 months and was brought in fairly high.
I'm curious to see what annual raises will be like with this company. I'm expecting at least 2%, but we'll see!
The last time we got COLA was 2010. Then President Obama froze it. I think we "may" get .5% in march depending on how the budget/fiscal cliff talks go.
I think federal retirees and SS did get a COLA increase this year.
I did get a step increase in July, thankfully it's something since OPM has no problem increasing our health insurance premiums.
2 years ago ~3%; the one and only raise I've had since coming on board with my company 6 years ago. Its a running joke that this company doesn't give raises and no body is laughing about it. Our 403(b) matching has been frozen since April of this year.
DH hasn't received a raise in the 6 years since he has started with his employer.
Add baby this year, general COL that keeps going up, and neither one of us has had any new job prospects and you get a really tough/tight/frustrating economical situation.
I've gotten a base raise every year of at least 2%. I just got a 9% raise switching jobs (in what I thought was a lateral move, didn't have to ask for the raise)

I haven't had a raise in this job. It's been 3 1/2 years. I had a self-made raise in 2008 from switching jobs. I lost that job, and took this one. I had a reduction in pay.
