DH and I usually exchange one larger gift and a few smaller ones. I have tons of smaller gift ideas this year, but I'm having trouble coming up with a larger one. Past years' large gifts have included handbags, electronics, cashmere sweaters, and jewelry, and I'm not finding anything in those categories that I absolutely must have. I'm sure there's something out there I really want, but nothing has come to mind quite yet. $500 is an average, but anywhere from $200 - $700 will work.
I was in the same boat this year, and finally broke down and found a couple watches and handbags in the $400-700 range that I wanted. I had to really look, though, because there was nothing that jumped to mind.
Do you wear a watch every day? Is there a designer brand of shoes you would like to try out?
If you are really searching that hard and can not come up with anything, why not pick out a charity with your DH and donate? Or plan a vacation and put the money towards that?
There are so many good ideas here! Unfortunately I've received many of them as recent gifts. lol. Remote car starter was my last year's Christmas gift. Cloudbee, thank you for your Amazon list! That exact serger was my birthday gift this year. We have a good DSLR; it was DH's Christmas gift two or three years ago, and we don't use it enough to warrant an upgrade just yet. I kind of want one of the new iMacs; that would be a good joint gift but DH's big ticket item is already ordered.
Art is a good one. And that reminds me that I want to get a comfy reading chair for the den (that room is also where we need art the most). OK, good. Still welcoming any and all ideas though!
