I'm trying to cut out soda completely. I've been drinking a TON of water, but I'm looking to add in a few other drinks for variety. I ordered a juicer last night (yes, I got sucked into FS&ND ). I'm thinking of adding teas for the health benefits and again, for some variety.
I do not like iced tea, and obviously that's not what I'm going for anyway. So, recommend your hot teas- flavors, brands, etc.
Unless you live in the Chicagoland area and can stop by, you would need to order from them but I love Todd & Holland. www.todd-holland.com/
I used to live where they are located and always spent way too much every time I went in. Now I place an order every 6 months or so since I am hooked on some of their blends.
I drink Rishi tea because it was local in Milwaukee. So far, I really like both vareties of black that I've had (China breakfast and golden yunan), the plum berry white tea, the peppermint roiboos (no caffeine), and the mystic mint (herbal, no caffeine). The jasmine green tea is also supposed to be great.

We're big tea drinkers. We go through about a gallon a day so we're always brewing more. We like Twinings decaf Earl Grey, Lady Grey, Irish Breakfast and English Breakfast. We buy those by the case. You can subscribe-ship on Amazon. I also love Lapsang Souchong, but my spouse does not. I've never seen that in decaf. We occasionally drink Rooibos and green tea, but I'm not fond of green.
Celestial Seasonings' seasonal Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride is my current favorite. It's pretty mild but nice when I want a hot drink. Otherwise I like English Breakfast (several brands) w/ 1% milk added.
Also, not sure why you gave up soda but we did too awhile back and lately we've been hooked on 1/2 juice/1/2 sparkling seltzer water. It's a nice substitute with way less sugar. My favorite juices are apple and a cranberry/pomegranate blend.

Just to cut out the sugar and calories. I'll have to give the sparkling juice a try, sounds good!

Flavors: I like green tea with lemon (hot or iced), ceylon, jasmine, Earl Grey, Lady Grey, Orange Pekoe, White Tea and Gunpowder.
Brands: When on the road, I bring bag tea from Twinings, Bigelow, Stash, and Salada. These are larger grocery store brands. At home, I will stop in one of the small ethnic grocery stores to get the best prices on loose tea. I am lucky because I have Chinese, Indian, Japanese, and Korean grocery stores in the area.
What do you like? Black tea, fruity Herbals? White tea? I have recs for all the above, but below are my favorites, although I dislike black tea
SO loves Red Blossom tea and the creamy back teas
I like Tazo passion fruit
Teavana Raspberry riot mate
Capital Teas ( online) : -Georgetown lemon -white champagne rasberry ( white tea) - dolly Madison tea -chai Masala - O Christmas tea ( green tea with orange flavor) - jolly strawberry -lemon drop ( my fav!!! Tastes like sour patch kids)
Honestly, I've never found a tea that I like. However, there are SO many that I haven't tried. I just know I can't stand the taste of sweet tea, which is about the extent of my experience with tea. If it helps, I usually love mint flavored anything. Thank you for the recommendations!
A few favorites are Tazo Refresh, Celestial Seasonings nutcracker (for this time of year), and a flavor called Egg'noggin (also seasonal) - I think Bigelow makes it?
I second the recommendation for Tazo Refresh and Aveda Comforting Tea. Both have a gentle mint flavor which I find refreshing. I like both kinds of tea hot or iced.
Raspberry Riot Lemon Mate (similar amount of caffeine as coffee) Slimful Chocolate Decadence Oolong (sometimes I'll add the new salted caramel herbal tea) Blackberry Mojito Green Tea the Chai blend

I went in Teavana once, and was totally overwhelmed. Haha. In a good way- so many choices. The chocolate decadence sounds interesting. Thank you!

I love the Trader Joe's Organic Mint Melange and also their Ruby Red Chai. I like a few of the Twinings ones too...used to drink a lot of Plantation Mint, etc. Just a few days ago I had Wissotzky Chamomile Honey tea at a restaurant and it rocked my word...I have some of that on the way to me as we speak.

These sound yummy, thank you!
The Yogi Egyptian Licorice Mint tea is very, very similar to the Aveda Comforting Tea, but much cheaper - just wanted to throw that out there since this is MM after all.
M6 - Do you find that particular brand of Jasmine tea to be bitter? We have a tin of that in our cupboard right now and it's a bit too bitter for me. I tend to like mild teas though.

I'm not as brand specific as flavor specific. I also pretty much only drink loose leaf tea. The flavor is so much more robust and it makes it so much better. But I like earl grey, English breakfast, Irish breakfast. Teavana is nice and has a ton of flavors, but can be pricey especially since I like more common flavors. Fortnum & Mason and Churchmouse yarns and teas (both online) have yielded some great teas.
Also, I got tired of plain water too. I found that trader joes has sparkling flavored water that contains no sugar or fake sugar and actually tastes good. I found one other brand in a normal grocery store too, but I can't remember what it was (definitely not la croix though). You just have to look at the labels.
