For the past while M has been sleeping from 9pm-ish to 5am-ish without waking. At that point he wants to get his diaper changed and eat and go back to bed. Last night he was down at 9:30, slept until 5:45 and then went back down after his bottle until 8:45. (We have a nanny so sleeping in is not a problem at this point) Would you push to eliminate that feeding? Or is the fact that he sleeps late-ish for a baby enough of a benefit to continue the feeding?
Babies eat when they're hungry. He's sleeping well, I see no reason to eliminate the feeding.
FWIW, my DS is 4 months older than yours & still nurses a few times overnight. I have no plans to night wean anytime soon.
I say keep doing what you are doing. I'm not there yet, but I my girl gets up 2x a night to nurse and goes back down. She sleeps a lot. I plan to keep doing what she wants to do. She needs both the food and the sleep.
If she was waking 5x a night and not going right back down and I was losing my mind, I might reconsider though.
