I have not started dating yet, but I've perused a few online sites to see what's out there. Based on what I've seen so far, my list would be: - Men over 35 who are starting new careers (I have kids to support, and I don't want to fund a man's career change) - Men who haven't finished college (I'm 34. If you're close to my age, you should at least have a Bachelor's degree) - Men who describe themselves as country boys or list hunting and fishing as their favorite activities. - Gym rats or otherwise exercise obsessed men - Men who don't want kids - I've got two, and we're a package deal - Men who want kids but won't date a woman with children. - Anything that hints at "douchebag" like overly artsy photos of themselves trying to look cool, referring to themselves as cool or hip or the life of the party, tons of shirtless pics, references to wanting a beautiful woman or a woman as attractive as they perceive themselves to be, etc. One guy actually said in his profile that he only wanted someone skinny, and that if you listed yourself as "average" he would assume you were obese and unable to see it. WTF? - Anything indicating that they're overly bitter - references to baggage, drama, cheating, playing games, gripes about not being able to find "real" people online, etc. - Self-described "ultra conservative" as far as political views go. - Anyone whose profile mentions God or Jesus more than once or twice.
Looking at my list, I can tell I'm probably going to be single for a long time...
I used to not date guys who didn't have a bachelor's degree as well. Interestingly enough, when BF first contacted me on match, I didn't respond exactly for that reason. A few days later, I looked at this profile again and responded, not remembering that I'd initially ignored him because he had no bachelor's degree.
He owns his own business and does really well. Glad I made that "mistake"!
Any man in NJ who describes himself by his ethnicity--"100% pure Italian!!" Really means, "cook for me because I'm a guido who thinks he had a big dick!"
And the rest of the aforementioned
HA! Well, now you've gone ahead and omitted prob more than 1/2 of the men on POF ... lol guidos are like a disease on that site..
I'll add guys who refer to themselves as hysterical, a great catch, references to their exes and how all women online are crazy...
I have found this too. I am only 5'6" but several guys i've met who list themselves somewhere between 5'8" and 5'10" are actually an inch or two shorter when I meet them in person. I now adjust my expectations accordingly.
Oh, people. Love the short man. I used to have this in my dealbreakers and now I am swooney and ridiculous over and amazing man who is probably only 5'3 or 5'4" (I'm the same height). He had 5'5" listed in his profile. lol But how that man adores me!
Oh, I will go out with them! I just need to know if I should wear my super high heels, my kind-of high heels, or my flats.
