I have a few pieces of lululemon - love the cool racerbacks, but like Lucy - esp their long sleeve workout t's and Zella (from Nordstrom) - booty pants and a few tops, just as much.
My workout gear is mostly Lulu, I love their pants (Grooves are great) and define tops, their tanks are fantastic, I love the Power Y. Buy a few options online and let you mom return what she doesnt like, they are fantastic with returns. I have been purchasing for years and have not had quality issues. My latest purchase was in early Nov, and included several different types of items - all were of great quality.
They have running skirts that I love for the summer, and I love their quarter zip tops for when it is chillier out.
For me, worth the investment since I am in the gym every day and work remotely often, so they are half of my work wardrobe
Cool racerback tanks Energy bra wunder under crops scoopneck tanks
The above tend to be universally flattering on a wide variety of body types (per the number of women I've seen wearing them at my gym) and are real workhorse pieces. The wunder under crops also double nicely as thick leggings with tall boots and tunic sweaters.
My favorites are the Wunder under crops and the long Wunder unders. I like them a lot better than running tights from other brands that tend to be shiny and more spandex-y. They also can be worn as leggings with boots etc. The jackets are great too and they is a lot of attention to detail (like thumb holes, hoods that actually fit right and stay up, one of mine has a ponytail hole, keeps you warm but are breathable so you dont feel sweaty, etc). I don't usually splurge on their tank tops. I like Costco knockoff cool racerbacks just as much. Eta: the running shorts are great too!
I just bought my first pair of Zella workout pants from Nordstrom and I LOVE them. Very comfortable, easy to move in -- and they're very thick, so I don't mind going out in public with them on. Could easily double as leggings to wear with boots, too.

Zella's live in leggings are awesome too. I seriously love them. They're often on sale, I've gotten them for around $40.

Another Zella fan here. I bought a couple of pairs during the anniversary sale and love them. GapFit isn't bad either, but I like my Zella leggings better.

My new obsession is Athleta. I'm so in love with the Bettona classic pants I just got last month that I'm waiting not so patiently for the next time they have a sale because I plan to get at least one more pair. They're great for yoga and cardio, and I can easily dress them up enough for every day wear as well.
I have a pair of LLL excel crops that I LOVE for running. I also have a scuba hoodie I really like for wearing to/from workouts. I have a long sleeve running shirt I really like too that has the thumb holes to keep the sleeves down under all your layers. I have a few other items, but these are the 3 I wear all the time.
LLL: I love the cool racerback and power-y tanks. Wunder Under crops are also good; they come out with fun patterns now and then, which are cute under dresses or long sweaters with flats/boots. The Run For Your Life crops are insanely comfortable, and I super love my Turbo shorts.
