Quote otterama: "It's cheaper, faster, less painful, no chemicals used...it's awesome. You need to have a pro do it. The hairs need to be about as long as they'd be for plucking/waxing."
The fact that I need to PAY someone to do it, and then DRIVE to the appointment, means it is NOT cheaper or faster. And tweezers are probably much easier to find than threading salons, especially if you live in a small town or a rural area. And whether it is less painful can be argued but not proven; either way the hair is still being pulled out (I don't find tweezing particularly painful). And tweezing doesn't involve chemicals either, so that was never a debate. I tweeze every couple of days. I'm guessing it would cost me and arm and a leg to go to the salon three times a week, not even counting time lost.
I don't understand how threading is less painful than tweezing. Either way, you are pulling the hair out of the follicle. The hair is being removed in the exact same manner. The only difference is the manner in which the hair is grasped.
Waxing is different because the ingredients in the wax have the ability to irritate the skin, as does the application if done wrong.

I love how this post brought so many lurkers out, lol.
I feel the same way as Sapphire and Missus... I get the urge to pluck as soon as a very short hair comes in so I can't imagine waiting until they've grown out, and I'm cheap.
