Because of her food allergies we were told to go veryyyy slowly introducing stuff. Then she had a reaction to avocado and seemed like she all of a sudden couldn't handle any solids so we basically started over. Pedi says she just sounds like she has an immature/weak digestive system. So far we are up to a whopping FOUR things she will eat- oatmeal, squash, sweet potato, and kind of apples. We were working on banana right before the avocado incident and she thinks its repulsive now again. She's going to be on nutramigen for life apparently.
We've gone real slow too and L is on nutramigen. She's tolerated sweet potatoes, avocado, pears, peaches, green beans and oatmeal. Reactions to squash and carrots. She's ok with bananas but they make her constipated. and she is ok with puffs and mm mums but mum mums gave her gas at first.
Ladies, in all honesty, I think that going slow is more of the norm than the babies that already eat meat. There is no right or wrong at all and every baby is different, but I think that sometimes this board makes it seem like "most" babies are already eating everything when I truly don't think that is the norm. I think the norm is still basic purees at this point. They will all be on the same page next year anyway, so it really does not matter how they get there right? I had never heard of BLW until this board. N eats a little of this and a little of that at this point. He does purees half of the time, and then soft items like steamed fruits, banana etc.. I don't follow BLW (but think it's great if baby & mommy enjoy it), it is out of my personal comfort zone so he gets all soft items like steamed pear, steamed carrots etc.. I hope all of your LO's that are on special diets feel better soon

This was nice to hear, solids stress me out. DD eats purees and does well, but when I introduce even just baby snacks like puffs, mum mums, and the yogurt melts, she gags and chokes. She doesn't even eat the baby snacks well! Purees for now is what we're doing.

We are going slow too. So far she's had sweet potato, avocado, banana, squash, green beans and pear. We might really live on the edge today and try peas!

Haha, I'm scared to try peas! I was happy that green beans went well. For the past 3 days she hasn't wanted any purees, only puffs and what we are eating. She loves to chew on a toasted bagel so we will give her that.

Glad it made you feel better. I think that us moms need to just go at our pace and know that we truly know what is best for our own babies. Sure, some babies may want pasta and meatballs already, but others just barely want pureed green beans. It's all good, really. After 1 year they will all be on the same page. This is my 2nd time at the rodeo so I am much more laid back this time, as I know that in the end it really does not matter.
We're going slow too. She's had squash (reaction), sweet potatoes (reaction), pears, apples, bananas, peas (doesn't like), prunes, oatmeal and avocado (doesn't like). I'm not too worried about nor was her GI. She's just not that into solids yet.

D is MSPI and is 8/10 for food intros so far. We had to stop oatmeal due to a reaction but now she is doing ok with barley. We add will fruit this month and see how she does with 2 meals this week. She is 8months. As far as avocado and bananas they are part of the latex family so reactions are common and you would want to be cautious for a latex allergy. All things squash seem to be working for us and her sensitive tummy. More than half of her safe foods are squash. GL, I hope she does well as you continue to intro more foods.
I'm still not even consistently feeding Lyla solids. She isn't a fan at all and I think its the texture.
I'm with ya. Etta just wants nothing to do with it, really.
And everyone said solids poop was so much worse, but Claire's poops are way easier to deal with than the explosive runny mess my formula-only girl is having.

Claire seems to hate all green stuff. But if I mix it in with carrots or sweet potato, which she loves, she goes to town.

This for me too. LO has had no issues tolerating anything, but he is still eating 6 or 7 basic purees. In fact, just this week I started mixing two together, simply to have him eat greens better. I'm not worried. His weight is fine, and even though I make his food, I'm kinda lazy and want to keep it simple. Maybe after the holidays I will start with real "recipes" but for now, pureed sweet potato, squash, apples, pears, green beans, peas, carrots and oatmeal seem to satisfy him just fine.
L isn't eating much yet. We tried lots of purees and he pretty much rejected them all. He now will eat a few bites of this and that off my plate. He likes toast, mashed potatoes, and yogurt. He will tolerate small florets of broccoli and peas in small doses. I'm going to try sweet potato "fries" today and see if those go over better than the puree.

Bitch be right.
Don't compare your babies to others, especially here! Butterbaby eats anything we put in front of him, but we have no allergy issues, and I know we are very lucky. All kids eat eventually! We are also not all that consistent yet with feeding. He usually eats the most when my husband is alone with him and there are no boobs in sight. And with BLW, I'd say 70% of it lands on the floor, then into our dog's mouth.

Same here. They are so well formed! But I do think she is often mildly constipated, so i'm not sure they're supposed to be that clean... what does your H say?
His only concern was when she was obviously straining and uncomfortable. Now that she gets a little juice every day, she seems fine, but she totally has perfectly cartoon-shaped little turds.
