I have been lurker on this site and The Nest before the move over here and fel tit was finally time to "Come out" and introduce myself.
DH and I have been TTC since July 2011 ( however we are military and he was deployed about 5 months of that). However I am very impatient for this to happen!! I started seeing a fertility OBGYN in Oct and we are currently on our first round of Femara (did clomid last month). So far nothing is "wrong".... ,my cycles are regular, I think I am ovulating every other month without drugs ( based on temps and OPkS). He is concerned about potential endometriosis but wanted to try a few cycles with ovulation drugs before doing a lap to look for it......have any of you ladies dealt with endo?
I am so anxious for this to happen soon. DH deploys again in the spring for 7-8 months so I am praying for it to happen before then.
I wanted to say that I have learned Sooooo much from this board and board on the nest previously. I was definitely green to all of this this time last year! I look forward to getting to know you ladies!!
Welcome! I have endo. I was diagnosed via lap surgery in August, during which they attempted to remove a 10cm endometrioma. Unfortunately, the cyst recurred a few weeks later and now I'm in the middle of a 3 month drug therapy to prepare me for surgery in January to remove as much of the endo as possible and we resume TTC naturally.
Well, I learned the hard way that the side effects of the Paraguard IUD are strikingly similar to endo: heavy periods, killer cramps (before, during and after), brown spotting all cycle long, fatigue, nausea...
It wasn't until I started having REALLY bad pain in my abdomen, and realized that it was happening at the same time each month and getting worse, that I demanded an ultrasound and they found a 10cm endometrioma. During the surgery to remove the cyst is when I was officially diagnosed with stage 4 endo.

Wow.....that's intense! I can't believe they could actually see it in the ultrasound....I mean I guess I can since it was so thick! I have had bad period pain for the first/second day since I was 15.... But the BCP helped that a lot. Well now that I have been off it for 1.5 years.....those pains are back with avengance but I don't think tot the degree you describe. Doc said he would really only be able to diagnose with a lap. I'm trying ovulation drugs for a few cycles before we get to that....thanks for your info!
