Federal govt here, but I've gotten an annual bonus for several years now. Sometimes it's money, sometimes it's time off, last year it was both b/c of the budget. It usually adds up to 2% of your salary.
I've also received monetary awards, some into the small 4 figures.
Bonuses are just a (usually uncertain) part of compensation though. If someone makes $60,000 a year and never gets a bonus, and another makes $50,000 a year but gets a $10,000 bonus, they earn the same amount. So getting a bonus or not getting a bonus doesn't necessarily mean anything.
I'd much rather get $x in salary than $x as a combo of bonus and salary. That way the $x is guaranteed, and I don't lose it if I leave the company before it is paid out.
I work on mostly commission so the more my team sells, the more I make on a percentage scale. However, I do not get arbitrary bonuses or year end bonuses.
My husband and I both work in allied health and bonuses are not in our vocabularly. Every member of my organization recently got a "high quality pullover" with the hospital logo- does that count?

I get that, but looking at some of the NUMBERS of those bonuses are ridiculous.

None for me or DH. My company actually canceled the yearly Christmas party due to an impt meeting in Dec. I was hoping they'd just give us the $$ for it.
My bonus comes in July. And it's pretty small compared to many. But I'm govt and bonus is a true bonus for certain projects or performance, not an expected part of compensation. So it's a surprise and never expected. Like the word bonus implies
H hasn't had a bonus in 7 years. He got a $25 gift card to home depot from his boss about 3 years ago. Nothing since then.

We are both self-employed, so no bonus for us. Although, being able to work at home in my PJs, away from meddling and annoying co-workers, is quite the bonus to me.

I'm higher ed too. No bonuses here. When I was in K-12, my charter school gave bonuses. Of course only like a few hundred, not several $k, but still, miss that!
