Does anyone have one? I need a new kindle before I fly to AZ in two weeks and I can't decide whether I want the new paperwhite or the old school keyboard one.

I ordered one. They're on backorder and won't be shipping until the new year. I had a keyboard one but it broke and was out of warranty so I got the paperwhite to replace it.

Oh, well poo I guess I can't get it in 2 weeks anyway. I knew I should have thought of this before now lol. Of course, I am not even sure I will have time to read now that I am flying with DS.
Why not get a small tablet? That way you could read if you wanted/had time, but you could also play games or show videos for the kid?
We have two tablets already and are likely getting a third lol. DH gets them from his work. We are bringing the tablets on the place though so, maybe I will just read off there for the short term.
For my own personal use I like the kindle better because I don't like the back lit for reading.

I upgraded to it from the Keyboard and love it. It's much smaller, I love that it has it's own light, the screen had great contrast. I love the way the cover fits on it.

So you find the screen easy to read? It is just like looking at white paper right vs a backlit screen right?

My CW has one. It's definitely more like looking at an old school kindle than a tablet. It still has the e-ink. I can ask how she likes it so far if you want.

My dad has one and I tried it out- i like it a lot. I won't read on a backlit screen... only on e-ink, so i had to see this before I got one myself- and I think i'll get one if/when my old Kindle dies (I have the old keyboard one and love it... so no rush to get a new one).
it is really cool- it's like a light shining down onto the e-ink... not up.

Thanks that be great!
She says she likes it, and hasn't noticed any eye strain (which would be my concern). She doesn't use it a lot though, it was more for her book club because the books are cheaper. She still prefers real books.
