This is prolly a dumb question, but I've never had an iPhone or iPod before.
Little SIL and little BIL have both had iPods and have shared music with their friends itunes accounts before. Little SIL went to do that with my phone but it gets rid of all my music when syncing up on her account.
Is there anything I can do to get around it? Or am I just SOL?
Your iPod or iPhone will sync with whatever library you sync it to--the entire library. It's to prevent/discourage illegal file sharing. You can't sync songs piecemeal.
I understand why they do it. I'm just wondering if there's a way around it. She already has albums of mine on her computer and I don't want to deal with having to rip them to my (new) computer if at all possible.
As for entire library, I actually can pick and choose songs but once I sink up I lose my stuff I already have on my phone.
We live with each other and share computers, if you were wondering. I'm sure I've bought half the stuff on her iPod.
Sorry if my post sounded accusatory! It wasn't meant to be that way. I have had the same issue with music my DH and I both own and share and it is a HUGE pain. I ended up needing to rip all his CDs onto my computer and then transfer to my iPhone. Pain.in.the.ass.
I just mean it will only sync one library at a time--so even if you choose lots of individual songs from your sis's library B, it will delete your entire library A before syncing them.... if that makes sense.

It's all good. I just wanted to clarify that I wasn't trying to pirate! I really just want to avoid, if at all possible, the "Pain.in.the.ass" part. I figure it doesn't hurt to ask people who have experience.
It makes complete sense. I just wish it wasn't the only option.

Thanks for posting this! You reminded me I never finished uploading my iTunes to my new phone. And now I'm having trouble syncing my own music from stuff I've ripped + stuff I bought. Sheesh this is hard!

I've used a program in the past that rips the songs off of any iPod/iPhone onto your computer. You can then put the music onto other devices. I think it's called Pod to Mac, and they had a program for PCs as well.
