One of our packages for Christmas got delivered today. The UPS guy hid the box behind our snow shovel sitting on our front porch. I thought that was very clever!
2 more people at my office went home sick today. I don't want to get sick!
Wally is being an asshole tonight. He pooped right in front of us on the carpet! Didn't ask to go out or anything. Just POOP. Grrr...
Photos have been popping up all over FB because of yesterday being the first day that same sex marriages were legal. I have been crying looking at all the photos because I'm so happy for them. One of my favorite customers made the front page of the Seattle Times. He came in this morning to buy several copies of the paper and I walked up to him patted him on the back and congratulated him.

I was feeling very down this afternoon. Driving home I was near-tears and very distracted, got honked at several times because lights had changed and I hadn't gone. Just feeling very near my breaking point and frustrated with scheduling bullshit and money bullshit.
But! When I got home, I had a box from my Aunt Margaret in Florida with presents, and also my reimbursement check from my union came! Christmas is ON, let's go shopping. So thanks, USPS for brightening my day.
I have had a weird stomach ache type thing for 2 days. I just feel sick off and on. I keep freaking my self out that I am having contractions, and I don't know it, b/c i don't know what they feel like.
I am sure It's probably just the fiber one bars i've been eating... lol
For some reason whenever my h eats egg salad, his throat swells up. He can eat eggs and mayonnaise on their own, but as soon as it becomes egg salad, his throat rejects it.
My kid decided to taste aloe vera and I guess she didn't like it because she puked all over the floor.
I have been looking for a different job in our area for several years, and haven't really found anything decent...My company has numerous locations in different states, and so I started to kind of think about the idea of moving. Well I found out today that I have the opportunity to move...but then I kind of feel bad because H would have to find a new job and he likes his current job. He's not totally opposed to moving though, so it makes me question what the right decision is

Someone tried to break into my house today while I was home alone with no car out front. The guy actually walked in the front door, saw me and tried to pretend like he was a repair man, then left when I said that I definitely don't need to have my sink fixed. I called my landlord and the cops and they are all taking it seriously.
I have felt like I was going to throw up ever since though. I have never felt unsafe in my own home until now. It sucks. I want to move but it wouldn't even help because break ins are a city wide problem.

I always buy DH a Hallmark ornament for Christmas, and he does the same for me. But this year, I'm unimpressed with the selection. I guess I'll let Lucy pick, so if it sucks, I can blame her. There were three ornaments to choose from last year in the Mickey series. THREE! Way to blow your wad, there, Hallmark
Rupert- were your doors locked? I'm so glad you're okay.
No, my front door was unlocked because I am dumb. That will not be happening again though. And I might start driving h to work the days I'm home now so I can have a car in the driveway and the house doesn't look empty. I think I've done everything else I can for now though.
Tamb, I live by lafayette park. I have other friends farther north in midtown that have had these kinds of problems too. And my gym which is all the way north of the interstate sends out emails all the time warning about car break ins. I never thought this would be the most dangerous place I ever lived.
I'm a little worried I didn't get more "it's ok, you're normal" in the confessions.
You are totally normal. I was so scared about being pregnant... but it turned out ok. Have you been trying or is this a surprise? Sorry that I don't know more of the back story here...
Ugh. My sister is mad at us for not wanting to have dinner with them on Thursday after going to a funeral for a baby. It's my nephew's 3rd birthday, but I just don't think we will be up to it, so fuck off.
I feel like we're not being very good friends, but I just don't know what to do for the parents. We've sent texts and messages of support, and we're driving up for the funeral, but I don't know what else we can do, and I honestly just want to bury my head in the sand and not think about it because I can't stop crying.
Hahaha. My kid just farted and it was recorded and played back by her evil recorder toy that records and plays back whatever it hears. I just laughed so hard.

Ack! I live near there! Well, closer to downtown, but within walking distance. One of my coworkers lives right by the park. That's my dream neighborhood. I was hoping you lived near campus or something. Lafayette Park is supposed to be a nice area! Sorry that happened to you.
My mom was always a stickler about locking the door at all times. I have gotten better since having J, but before I would sometimes leave mine unlocked during the day and leave the backdoor open with just the screen closed.
We are neighbors! Anyway, look out for an average looking white dude who wants to fix your garbage disposal. Hopefully Bailey will scare anyone off.
I have my first sinus headache today. Definitely not a fan. Nothing I have taken today has made a dent.
It took me an hour and a half to get to my DD's daycare 10 miles away. An hour and a half. My car drives like a rollerskate in a bathtub, so every time I approached a slight incline, it was ten seconds of praying traffic kept moving or I'd never make it up. Thank you, foot of snow followed by single-digit temps that froze it all.
My DD is making me smile tonight after a particularly lousy day.

H said he would like one of these toys.
Haha he can have it. I found out about this stupid thing because I was in the playroom talking to the cat and suddenly I heard my own voice being repeated back to me. I almost shat myself when I said " what the fuck" and SOMETHING repeated exactly what I had said.

Rupert that is so scary! Glad you are ok!
I am super paranoid about locking doors all the time, and my H thinks I'm crazy for worrying. Apparently he thinks houses never get broken into, ever. At our old house, he would just leave the front door unlocked when he left for work all the time. Then I would get home before him and have to enter an unlocked house. He didn't see a problem with this. It still makes me all pissed off to think about it. Luckily we have a garage now and he never uses the front door, so it's always locked and the garage is always closed.
