DH used to dust about once a month before we got married. Now I dust every week. My dusting routine consists of dusting the light fixtures, trim, baseboard radiators and of course the furniture. How often do you dust?
I could dust every freaking day and still not keep up.
Exactly!
I actually created a cleaning calendar for myself that has me dusting different items on different days of the month, because it was just too overwhelming otherwise. I'm not always good about doing my daily chore, but I do find that following the schedule helps me to (sort of) stay on top of things. Winter is worse because the heat from our fireplace attracts dust and we are spending more time inside, thus creating more dust.

I do the same. I started with MS calendars of cleaning and modified them for our house. We have weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly lists. On the weekly list we have dusting DR/LR furniture, lights, electronics. On the monthly we have dusting the foyer and bedroom lights and furniture. On the quarterly we have dusting the baseboards. We just had the heating ducts cleaned for the first time, but we're going to try to do that every 2-3 years.
I don't really beat myself up if we miss a weekly chore (we're probabaly at 85% completion each week) because we'll get it the next week, but we're always sure to do the monthly/quarterly, which isn't quite as grueling.

Uh... I dust the Blu-ray player and tv base like once a season... Uh, yeah lol I prob should dust a bit more since one of the cats seems to have a dust allergy
It feels like too often but always at least once a week. We have black furniture in our bedroom which accumulates dust like crazy. I actualy said to DH today that I wish I could just leave the vacuum on to suck up all the dust floating around before it lands back on the furniture!
Every week right before vacuuming. I feel I have to or there is really no point in vacuuming as the dust from the surfaces move around and end up on the floor if I don't.
