I pay $80 tip included for cut and highlights, but I think I'm going to pay a little extra and go elsewhere. No more than 120 though. No fucking way would I spent $500 for just a cut and colour, even if I could afford it.

$320... Highlights, only place that had true English-speakings stylists inthe city. Now I am OK with someone who doesn't speak English and go elsewhere (cheaper).
$15 for a trim and tip at Super Cuts. The cut is $10 and I tip $5. My mom would die if she knew. She has always spent a lot on her hair.
I'm happy with the blond color so I've never altered it.
I probably get my hair cut/trimmed every 4 months. And funny - I actually get a lot of compliments on my hair. Little do they know... The style is pretty simple. It's a little past my shoulders, and a pretty straight cut all around with very slight angles in the front.
ETA: I live in the NYC metro so VHCOL, but I still go cheap.
*hoping someone else comes in here and says they get their hair cut at a similar chain*
For $480, I hope they posted a PIP and it was Kate Middleton hair.
Otherwise, they wasted a shitload of money.
I don't care how much someone spends on their hair, because heck, I like nice handbags and choose not to spend much on my hair. But - her response doesn't compute. "VHCOL area with no trustworthy MM salons as far as I can tell. So junior stylists at a very nice salon."
For a cut and color here in DE it's about $160 including tip for the salon I go to. I'm willing to pay it because its the only thing I splurge on for myself. I also try to stretch it to every 10 weeks or so.

I don't think I've spent more than $100. I stopped getting my hair dyed when I got pregnant with DD, so now I pay $15 plus tip. I dye my hair at home just to cover up the gray.
you spent $300 to have some rip your vag hair off?
I think she means a Brazilian blowout lol
Lmao yes. I meant to type brazillian blowout. Next time i will go for the copola one, but it is more pricey. My salon says 600, so im not sure its worth it. Lol

The only way I would spend $500 on a cut and color is if it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to have my hair done by a world famous hair stylist. Other than that? No.
I used to spend about $60 pre-tip for a basic cut. I decided I don't even care that much so now I go to an Aveda Institute and get it cut for $15. I'm stupid low maintenance though and don't even wear make up, so take my response for what it's worth.
I can't imagine spending that much on my hair, but if that poster has the funds to do it and it's important to her, why not?

Cut + color for me is usually around 70 + tip. My old salon was closer to 100. Where I live now, I would never pay more than 100. If I lived in a HCOL area, I would be OK with up to 130-140 I guess.
$300 for a cut and brazilian blowout, excluding tip.
I've been going to same stylist since 2004. Her prices went up a few years ago when she changed salons and became a senior stylist, but I pay it happily. I could sit in her chair blindfolded, not give her any instructions, and I know I'd still walk out looking great.
I've had my hair highlighted twice for the first time in like ten years and it cost $110 w/o tip the first time and $140 the second time (about, memory slightly fuzzy). I felt a little sick and will probably grow them out, because I do not like spending that much on my hair. Plus, my hair feels drier and looks less healthy, imo.
