I'm not sure exactly what aspects of Outlander that you liked (and I haven't read the others), but I would recommend Ines of my Soul by Isabel Allende and Snow Falling on Cedars by David Gutterson.

I started to read The Tea Rose and couldn't get into it. I feel like maybe I was 50-100 pages in? Should I plow through? This was a couple years ago I think.

Rose Gordon writes some good historical romance. Her 'Groom Series' is really sweet. I didn't enjoy the 'Scandalous Sisters Series' as much, but it was still enjoyable. She has good sales too. If you keep your eyes open, she'll drop the prices to 99cents from time to time.

I guess it starts kind of slow, but it definitely gets good. The second one, the Winter Rose was almost better, there were some parts I couldn't put down and literally missed my bus stop since I was so engrossed.
