I am super type a and always freak out when traveling that I've forgotten something. Now we're leaving tomorrow night to fly to England for 2 weeks and I am worried I will forget something essential. I know it's not a 3rd world country, but I like to be prepared Anyone care to review and let me know if there are other things I should consider taking? This is exclusive of clothes of course.
Diaper Bag Diapers - 15 wipes changing pad blankets - 2 A&A plastic bags diaper cream hand sanitizer tissues extra pacifier extra change of clothes miracle blanket burp cloth gas drops tylenol wet bag k'tan
in carry on/checked bag pacifier car seat cover warm blanket bottles (2?) bib burp cloth hair brush nail clippers nose frida
How many changes of clothes do you have for the flight? I would recommend at least two, and pjs if you think the routine of changing into them will help your child sleep. (This helps DD sleep on our overnight flights.) Consider packing an extra shirt for yourself in case you get spit up on or anything. I would put two burp cloths in.
Include anything else that is part of your bedtime routine- book, massage lotion, lovey, etc.
Download some kind of whitenoise onto your Ipod/Ipad in case you need to play it at your destination.
How old is your child? Is he/she eating any solids yet?
FWIW, I found Boots and Sainsbury's to have just about everything I needed baby-wise when I was in the UK. I only packed enough diapers and wipes for the flight.

Thanks!
She will get on the plane in a onesie and babylegs (she is a space heater). She currently sleeps in a diaper and miracle blanket - so I am packing the MB in to swaddle her up when we board (9:15ish). We have a fleece gown and a spare sleeper, as well as her outfit we're putting her in when we get off the plane. DH and I are both packing spare shirts in our carry on.
Thanks for the white noise reminder - I need to charge up the ipod speaker.
You will be fine in England, Boots, Mothercare, Sainsburys, Tesco, all places to get baby stuff. This is an incredibly easy time to fly. The tylenol equivalent over there is Calpol. I would bring more than 2 bottles. Are you bf'ing or ff'ing? They have different formula over there than in the US.
Definitely bring a spare thin cotton shirt and compacy pants like leggings for yourself as backup, that can be rolled up small.
If you have 2 A&A blankets in the diaper bag, I would not pack the warm blanket in your carry on. If you're holding the baby for much of the flight, you're sharing body heat and I doubt you need 3 blankets. That's just added bulk that will be annoying.
Nail clippers - you probably can't get through security with those. Put them in your checked suitcase.
Ask for a bulkhead seat with bassinet if you can. The noise from the airplane will be white noise, so don't worry much about the flight. It is a great age to fly with.
