WWYD: Amazon sent wrong toy brand

I posted this on the main board too hoping to get more feedback from Amazon customers. I rarely order from them & have never had this issue before.

I ordered this toy last week after someone recommended it on here.

It was $10 + $8 for shipping. It arrived yesterday.

WWYD? They're similar toys, but different brands. The toy I received doesn't really "chirp" but I'm not sure if the original brand is any better in that regard.

I don't order very often from Amazon & have never had probelms before.

Email customer service. There's a good chance they'll refund your money and let you keep the item anyway. That's what happened to me last week.

They seem so similar. Seems like more trouble having to send it back and have them ship the correct one. But if you want to send it back and it's a amazon issue it's free returns.

I would do Customer Service Chat because then I don't have to actually talk to someone. Every time I've had problems they've been very helpful and courteous.

I would call. That's a large price difference. I would want to be reimbursed for the difference and keep the "wrong" item.

Worst case: I'd keep them and expect $15 back.

Best case: Keep them and get the full $18 back.

I think if you order from amazon it's one thing, but if you order from the marketplace, you have to go through those sellers.

I may to try find these in town today. My expectations are low. My thoughts are Toys R Us and WalMart.

I hope they come through for you - false advertising is never fun.

BirdGirl you are right, it wasn't Amazon. As I said I rarely order from them so I wasn't really sure how it worked. I did check the seller feedback before ordering, 4.8/5 stars.

Weird. I got them from amazon, not a seller last year. They must have stopped carrying them. DD loves them.

No LakeShore in my area, I've been browsing their site though & they have really cool stuff.

Just to confirm, for those of you that love these eggs...it's the Tomy brand right? I found a similar item direct from Amazon, the brand is Kidoozie. Peek n Peek Eggs

I was showing these to iPOAS (remember her?) and she likes the Kidoozie ones and recommended those. I still haven't made it out of the house yet.

We have the first one, and they definitely chirp.

I think they did it on purpose. I would be pissed and expect a full refund, including any shipping costs.

We had the Tomy brand. They were awesome and squeeked. I don`t know about the other brand.

Tomy FYI is a good brand. I emailed them asking about the safety of their toys (lead, PVC, phthalates, BPA etc...) and their toys don't have any of it. To me, it would be worth getting this resolved to get the right toy.

Thanks for posting! I had the same item bookmarked, from the same seller (Merry Christmas 2012). I'll find it elsewhere.

Update:

The seller responded & is shipping me the Tomy brand. She apparently stocks both & shipped the wrong brand by accident. She did offer me a credit if I wanted to keep the knockoff brand but I said I wanted to do an exchange.
