If you were induced with pitocin, how many cm's were you? Did you end up having a vaginal delivery or a c/s?
If you were late, how long would your doctor let you go before they induced you?
At my appointment yesterday I was still 1cm and 70% effaced, so they are having me come back tomorrow to see where I am and then I'll go to the hospital and get induced. They just wanted to see if 2 days would make a difference. They won't let me go past 41 weeks which would be this Saturday.
If you were induced with pitocin, how many cm's were you? 0 cm. yes, 0. I never progressed past 1 even with pitocin
Did you end up having a vaginal delivery or a c/s? c/s
If you were late, how long would your doctor let you go before they induced you? I was only 3 days late bc I had an ultrasound that showed I had no fluid left (slow leak) so to prevent infection I had to be on antibiotics and induced.
My water broke at 40w 6d and labor never really got going on its own. I was 1 cm and not effaced at all. In retrospect, I think she was mis-aligned and not applying pressure to my cervix.
Pitocin> epidural> vaginal delivery 24 hours after I checked into the hospital.
Handling contractions without an amniotic sac sucks.
I was just about the same as you (1 cm, 50%) at 41w, with an induction scheduled for 41w2d. They ended up sending me to be induced at my 41w appt for low fluid.
I got to about a 4 on the pitocin (after 12+ hours) and the OB figured out that baby's head was transverse, causing me not to dilate. I ended up having a c/s.
I wanted to avoid induction/pitocin & a c/s and was surprised because it really wasn't that bad. Good luck!

I was induced with Cervadil gel. That got me from 1 cm to 3 cm overnight. In the morning they broke my water and started Pitocin. I had a vaginal delivery.

They would let me go up to 42w but strongly preferred I do it closer to 41w. In their words, "not much good happens after 41w, but a lot of bad can." They basically said, "pick your day next week," and I chose the date I did based on the doctors on call. C was delivered at 41w2d.

With DD1, I was induced at 40w5d due to high BP. At that point, I was still 0 cm. They gave me Cervadil instead of pitocin overnight and in the morning, I was still at 0 cm. Because my BP was still really high, my OB decided that it would be safest to have a c-section that day and get baby out ASAP.
With DD2, I had an induction scheduled for 40w3d. No issues, they just wanted to avoid having my BP spike again. When I went in for the induction, I was 1 cm. My OB broke my water within minutes of starting me on Pitocin (apparantly, you can't have Cervadil if you've had a previous c/s). I ended up having a successful VBAC.
FWIW, my OB thinks that DD1 was too big for me to deliver vaginally and that's why I didn't progress with her. DD2 was quite a bit smaller and that seemed to help.
#1: Induced at 38w because my water broke and no labor after 18hrs. Was "fingertip" (<1cm) and high. Can't remember effacement. Started pit and had a baby vaginally 5hrs later.
#2: Induced at 40w due to size. Attempted induction at 39.5w without success (never went into labor). Went home. Tried again a few days later. Was about 1cm and high. Unknown effacement. Effective labor kicked in only after AROM (OB ruptured membranes). Vaginal delivery about 8 hours after that...to an eleven pounder!
So I've never gone into labor on my own. Pit is my friend! My OB for #2, who was AWESOME, didn't like to let people go beyond 40w due to increased risk of stillbirth.
If you were induced with pitocin, how many cm's were you? I had Cervidil the night before, water broken, and then pit around noon. I dilated completely.
Did you end up having a vaginal delivery or a c/s? c-section. DS flipped breech between 5cm and 10cm.
If you were late, how long would your doctor let you go before they induced you? I didn't go late but my midwife won't let patients go much past 41 weeks.
I was in early labor ( cramping bloody show) when I showed up for my scheduled c section. Switched it to induction and got cervadil at 7am. by 11am I was at 4. Had small amounts of pit twice, and delivered a 9lb 6oz baby vaginally at 9:36 am the next day.
Oh I was 41 weeks 3 days when I went into the hospital. DS was born at 41 weeks 4 days.

My water broke at 40w2d, but I wasn't dilated (at all, not even fingertip) or contracting. They started with cytotec; four hours later I was 1.5 cm dilated and they started pitocin. DD was born vaginally 12 hours after starting pitocin (18 hours after my water broke).
I had an induction set for 40w6d. My doctor didn't want me to go over 41 weeks.
ETA: I was terrified about being induced, and in my case, it was actually pretty great. I would have a ton of babies if all of my L&Ds could be exactly like that one (well, that and a nanny, cook, housekeeper, and exceptionally large bank account).

Do they have to start with pitocin?
I was induced at 40w1d. I was 3cm and like 90% effaced. The plan was cervadil for 12 hours and then start pitocin. I never ended up needing the pitocin and they pulled the cervail out after like 6 hours because it put me into labor. DD was born 14 hours after they put the cervadil in.
My doctor wanted me induced as soon after 40 weeks as possible.
If you were induced with pitocin, how many cm's were you? They started me on a Foley Catheter the night before, so I was at 4cm when they started pitocin in the morning.
Did you end up having a vaginal delivery or a c/s? c/s, but I had other complications (herniated disc) that played a part in that decision.

I was in a very similar situation with DD.
I was induced at 40 weeks and 6 days. DD was born after midnight (after getting to the hospital at 7am), so she was actually born at 41 weeks exactly.
I was not dilated or effaced at all. I had the PG gel the night before, and it didn't do much (if anything).
DD was born vaginally, after I spent the whole day begging my doctor not to make me have a c-section.
To be honest, I should have either not been induced or had a c-section because I had a lot of complications after the birth. I had massive hemorrhaging and had to have an emergency D&C.
But, if I were in your situation -- where you're already dilated and effaced -- I'd be induced again and expect to have it go better.
I was induced at 40w6d due to low fluid. I was 3 cms. They broke my water and started pitocin a few hrs after that. My body responded really well and I easily dialated to 9 before stalling out. DD was positioned in such a way & my pelvis is narrow, it wasn't happening. I had a c/s after 15 hrs of labor.

I was a fingertip dilated at my 41 week, 1 day appt. They induced with pitocin due to my blood pressure creeping high. I had a vaginal delivery after 17 hours of labor. Standard practice with my OB is to not let you go past 42 weeks.

I had an elective induction at 38.5 weeks. I went in n a Sunday night and was 1 cm and 50% effaced. I had 3 doses of cytotec starting at 8 pm on Sunday. Last dose was at 4am. My water broke (on its own) at 515 and DD was born vaginally at 809 am Monday morning. I never needed pitocin and only pushed like 3 or 4 times. I was a first time mom so everything went much faster than anyone expected. My OB was doing a hysterectomy in the am since she didn't expect me to go in the am so one of her partners ended up delivering me. Things went very smoothly in my case (other than the fact I actually had HeLLP syndrome but had no symptoms other than the abnormal labs)
My labor stopped at 4cm so I was augmented (as opposed to induced). I had a vaginal, epi free delivery several hours later. GL. Try bouncing on a yoga ball. I did that all day with my second and my water broke 2 weeks early.

I wasn't past my EDD either time, but was induced with both deliveries, one on my EDD and the other six days before. DD #1 was born 10.5 hours from the start of pitocin (and that included the first hour or so being a slow, monitored contraction stress test not really meant to start full-blown, deliver a baby, labor), DD #2 took only five hours.
If you were induced with pitocin, how many cm's were you? Did you end up having a vaginal delivery or a c/s? I was 4-5 cm each time. Both ended in uncomplicated vaginal deliveries.
If you were late, how long would your doctor let you go before they induced you? My doc allows you to go to just before 42 weeks...she doesn't want you to hit that point.
Good luck! I know some women had poor induction experiences and/or don't want one, but mine were great. And I honestly think being induced with #2 may have saved her...she had umbilical cord issues and it was the constant monitoring I was under that uncovered them so that my OB knew to speed things up and get DD out and the cord unwrapped ASAP. A longer, slower labor could have been dangerous for her.
I'm a bit of a lurker, but wanted to write with a good story.
I was induced at 40w 3d, and I was 3cm and 90% effaced. I had a vaginal delivery.....6 hrs from the start of pit to birth. Easy peasy. (WAY easier than my 1st, who I went into labor with naturally -- my natural contractions put the pitocin contractions to shame)
My Dr. induces before 41 weeks. I selected the induction date because I didn't want chorioamnionitis again and had a fear that going late would put me at risk.
Don't fear the induction -- 70% effaced is really great, and the beauty of an induction is that everything is done in a controlled environment. While it wasn't what I "wanted," nothing went wrong and in the end, I am eternally greatful for it.
