What do you tell your boss when you need to request time off work? Right now I'm doing clomid so I have to take off for the ultrasound each month. I have a flexible schedule and can make time up so I know my boss would never tell me no, I just usually like to give a reason rather than "can I be gone for 2 hours".
I debated telling my boss what is going on but since I've only been doing this for 2 months I'm not quite ready to say anything.
I took quite a few 2-hour blocks when I was newly pregnant, and then for the m/c. I never told anyone at work about the pregnancy. Most of the time, I just said I needed the time for a doctor's appointment. A few in there were faked dentist appointments, appointment at my bank, etc. I know my boss thought something weird was up, but never said anything.
When I had a male boss, a simple "female issues" worked like a charm and he never, ever mentioned it, or wanted to know anything more.
I have a good relationship with my (Female) boss and I haven't said anything. "I have an appointment, I have to be out." IDK, I probably wouldn't lie to her if she straight up asked me, but she won't, so it doesn't matter.
The most she's ever said is, "Everything ok?" and I'm just all, "Yup, just fine. Thanks for asking!" At this point I suspect she figures (or has a general idea).

I've had a million Dr appts in the last year and all I say is that I have a Drs appt. She has seen a note for the week I took from my lap surgery so she knows there's something ongoing, but hasn't asked for details and I haven't provided them. I would find it an uncomfortable conversation, I don't think she wants to hear about my defective reproductive system, lol.
