Lurker coming out of hiding. I got my BFP last Friday and my estimated due date is August 26th. I have a San Francisco vacation planned for the first week of May and wanted to get y'all's opinion on whether I should cancel or not. I'll be around 6 months and everyone is telling me to cancel because it won't be fun walking everywhere. I personally think I can handle it because even though I will be big, I plan on being fairly physically active throughout my pregnancy. I'm more concerned about having to pee every five minutes because I HATE public restrooms lol. So what do you girls think: fun last vacation or will I be miserable?
Go! It's a trip that you won't get to take for a while once the baby arrives.
We are going to Southern CA the end of March, when I'll be about 5 months along. I'm not worried at all. I traveled in the 5-6 month period when I was pregnant with DS2 as well. It's a great time to go. It should be after all the 1st tri exhaustion and m/s pass, and before you are too big and uncomfortable.
Enjoy. And you can even have a little wine at that point and not feel too bad about it!

I say go for it... we are planning on a "babymoon" of sorts around 6-7 months. San Fran has beautiful weather that time of year, just pack your walking shoes. You can always take the muni or trolley around from point to point for a low cost (entire day pass).

I'd say go. Take that with a grain of salt because I haven't made it that for in a pregnancy before but I travel a lot for work and have no intentions of stopping until my doctor recommends I do.

I'd probably still go. You might be beginning to enter into the uncomfortable state of your preg, but I still think you would be able to enjoy yourself.

Thanks everyone! My family was so negative about traveling while pregnant I think I was just getting psyched out. For now I think I will work with the assumption that we are going. Hopefully my pregnancy goes complication free *crosses fingers. I've never been to the West Coast and I'm super excited about seeing the Redwood forests. I was even thinking about having my maternity pics taken while out there because I'm sure it'll be so beautiful. Thanks for easing my mind and helping me to see that it is possible to have a vacation while pregnant.
I would definitely go! They have cabs and transit in San Fran if you get too tired. Just bring nice shoes to walk in and take lots of breaks if you need to. Honestly, it will be fine.
I was doing hikes and walks up until the end with litle G for a couple of hours. I was slow, but did it.

I walked all over SF when I was 6m pg with DS and it was totally fine. Just wear comfy shoes and make sure you stay hydrated and eat when you need to. Luckily, there's a ton of good food all over the city!
I say plan on going somewhere but if you can keep your options open for a while that's what I'd do. I'm only 14 weeks and can't walk long distances right now. I'm still going on a cruise in two weeks but my butt will be planted most of the time.
You should be fine. I walked during my last pregnancy every few days up until the day before I had my son. And I am NOT an excercizer by any means. I also walked a 5k the week before he was born (with only 2 pit stops!)
Plus, like others said, you don't HAVE to walk...there are taxis, buses, And even a trolley thing if you get tired or uncomfortable. Have fun!
