Update - never mind! Work is cancelled today so I'm staying home. Not worth 2 round trips all the way out there in a blizzard.
I have an appointment to take both dogs to the groomer this morning. We were supposed to get a blizzard last night through today and there was a possibility of work being cancelled. We barely got any snow although it may be a little icy because it rained quite a bit (lets hope the Iowa DOT has taken care of the roads since then, though).
I work about 20 minutes from home and the groomer is an additional 10-15 minutes past that. My original plan was to drop them off before work and then pick them up either on my lunch or after work (I hate leaving them all day but I might do that).
They are still predicting a blizzard today. I think it would be ok to take them there, but I'm not sure about getting them back.
The roads we take to get to the groomer/work are heavily traveled interstate hightways. There are typically tons of accidents and cars in ditches in the winter, and this is the first snowfall. That's why I'm questioning this.
There won't be another opportunity to take the dogs in before Christmas, and I had wanted them to be clean and looking nice. I just will be super annoyed if I cancel my appointment and then nothing else happens with the weather today!
Could you take them in and then if it starts getting bad go pick them up?
Being in VA we prepare for the WOOOORST and rarely get anything so this is usually my plan.
Maybe, but if it starts getting bad I have to drive 15 minutes there, then 30 minutes back to my house (on a good day, I guess it would be longer). I guess it also depends on where in the grooming process they are.
But that's a possibility. I hate that weather reports are so unreliable :@
