I got my Mom an amazon giftcard to buy a books for her Kindle. Her and my dad do a lot of driving. I also got her a framed photo of her and my dad on the last vacation we took with them and a cookbook.
I am a big reader so I often give my mom books I loved and know she'll enjoy as gifts. This year I got her The Night Circus and 11/22/63. I also got her a vegetable peeler and storage canisters for the kitchen (hers suck, she hates them but has not gotten new ones in years and years).

My parents are hard to buy for.
I bought 11/22/63 for my parents (1 copy to share, they will both enjoy it) and also for my BIL and my grandma (so I bought 3 copies, lol). I feel funny giving all three of them the same gift but I think they'll all enjoy reading it!
I also got my parents a JustGive donation card. They didn't want anything and I couldn't think of anything else good to give them. I could probably come up with 20 small things for my mom but my dad? Nothing, so I give them a joint gift.
I'm impressed by the generosity in this thread and now I'm second guessing if I should have gotten my mom other stuff too!

Ha! It's a really good book. And I lied by omission in my post--the copy of 11/22/63 is actually going to go to both my mom and dad. I think they'll both enjoy it as well.
Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed. - G. K. Chesterton

I got her clothes and a photo of her grandkids.
If she is good with her ipad, maybe an accessory? I just got my dad a plug in card reader so he can upload photos right on the ipad. It was only $5 on amazon.
