Well they'll still be working on it behind the scenes right? Hopefully they'll go home, realize that constituents on both sides want a deal, and come back more determined to create a workable compromise. It's not over yet but I'm annoyed that they're literally leaving it till the last minute.
eta: the odd thing is that the approval ratings of both sides would likely increase if they were able to work out a deal. They have huge incentives all over the place to get this thing done and yet they continue to procrastinate. I don't get it.
I'm pissed b/c I thought they were told it was expected that they work Christmas Eve, off on Christmas and return on the 26th.
WTF- so, jackasses that can't even do their job effectively get off on Christmas eve and us normal Feds can't even get a damn "gimme" day off on Christmas Eve?

The situation is beyond ridiculous at this point. I never really thought that they'd be able to compromise but that doesn't make it any less infuriating.
I'm not shocked at all, I never thought they were going to come to an agreement before Christmas.
I actually don't think it will be the end of the world if we go over the fiscal cliff, in fact, I think it may be the jump start we need to tackle some of the difficult issues at play. And if not, well I'm ready to buy some stock.
maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I have an instict it will all work out in time
On time being the extreme last minute?
If this happens and these idiots are reelected, then it is on us (the stupid voters) for not holding them accountable for their idiotic ways. If they go on vacation next week, that's BS.
